Why did you come to EC?

To find people I can relate to, because it's pretty hard to find anyone IRL to talk to.

 

I came here via suggestion. I was talking about sexuality with my then therapist and her conclusion was that I was a lesbian. I didn't know how to cope with that. She suggested that I look for a support group online. I came across this site and the rest is history.

 

This forum seemed like the only place where I could talk to like minded people and inform myself on topics of interest. As well as a place where I could potentially seeks help with issues that pop up from time to time. Making new friends is also on my agenda but is currently not at the top of the list.

Here I can say anything I want about homosexuality and people will understand me.
I think, that people here are not that close minded than e.g. in Stormfront :eek:
Besides this is the best way to keep up with me english skills. So, if I make any mistakes in english, you´ll understand why.

 

I wanted to find LGBT people whom I could talk to about homosexuality and to make new friends.

 

I wanted to meet other people that i could talk to about virtually anything. I'm able to be 100% myself on here, even with all the stringent measures in place.

Not even a month after my initial gender dilemma I decided I would be better off bringing up some of my questions with people who could help work through my issues. So I came here. And it's nice being able to share my thought processes with others; my hope is that possibly something I can share will help someone else in return.

 

I found this place when I started doing Google searches during my questioning phase. After looking at some of the threads I decided that I would take a chance and create an account.

 

I had been bottling up too much... especially regarding my first love who was my straight female friend... And I needed to talk it out. Been here ever since off and on.

 

I came here for the simple reason of being part of the wonderful community on this forum, helping others get through maybe tough times and then also having an enormous support group that I know have big hearts and welcome all with open arms. (or open keyboards, lo que quiera)

 

Same as everyone: advice, support, etc.
Also, I wanted to meet the staff members, They are cool.

To find out who I am, I'm straight now. Only done things with girls. I'm kinda scared to do anything with a guy. I want a guy who will be safe with me on my first time.

 

I came because I am at the most difficult time in my life that I have ever been in. Because I felt I had no where else to turn. I saw this wonderful community and felt safe in joining it. Just like a lot of the people here. c: It's nice to see.

 

Came and got what I needed, was tired of keeping it all in with no one to talk to. Ended up staying for the community.

 

Came here to find some in my position and see im not the only one..i know this logically but It still feels that way im in a really dark place...i try to use humour as a coping tool but it sometimes doesn't work...im afraid im going to start using again..i just want to feel numb but i know that's not healthy...im sick of feeling obligated to prove im not a man..why is it this way why can't i be content with my gender

 

I needed help, I didn't know what to do anymore and I wanted to talk to people, ask others in my situation questions, and just express myself. This place, the people here... It's helped me so much, I'm glad I came here....

 

I needed support and some people I could relate to and seek advice from. I knew literally one person from the LGBT+ community and they lived far away anyway and I was terrified to come out. I browsed EC as a guest for a day or so and realized it was really diverse. Also realized I wasn't alone at all in my fear and confusion.

Even after I came out, I stayed because it's just a fun and interesting place and also the "queer club" on my campus is not very friendly to newcomers (go figure)
