Because I didn't have any IRL friends. Then I made friends. Then I started helping people out. Then I became an advisor. Then chat mod, then mod, supermod, admin, admin assistant, then back to full member. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I'm really not sure why...probably to talk, vent, find people in similar situations as myself...

Whenever I wanted help or advice, the best results I got were always on this site. I signed up so that I could as questions and talk to other LGBT people. It's nice talking to people in a similar situation to yourself...

Since I was already out when I registered, I came here to help others with my experience and knowledge. I didn't expect to find so many special people that are quite close to me by now, though.

To be honest, I joined empty closets to answer one question and that was I'm not the gay stereotype and most heterosexual texts are like gay men are all followers of the gay stereotype and so I really wanted to know if a gay guy who didn't fit the stereotype was actually gay (I know I'm kinda stupid) I ended up staying and look at the aftereffects i've embraced being homosexual and am immensely happy which I haven't been for a long time.

Some friends migrated here from another forum and I figured I'd tag along. They didn't stick around, but here I am still. Go figure.

I came here bc I was severely depressed and crying myself to sleep averagely 3 to 4 times a week. Now I hardly ever cry and I'm rarely ever depressed. Also I was gonna join a GSA but I had too much anxiety and couldn't bring myself to do it.

So I can be myself. Every time I become flamboyant, lady like, or whatever, everybody covers their faces with their hands and says, "Oh god." But empty closets is so super cool with me being myself.

I was interested in finding friends who have similar experience than me.

I found this as I was looking for a plae because I was questioning my gender. It's a good thing I found this place to, because it has help me find out who I am.

I was losing myself in the months before I joined EC. I am usually quick to catch that I'm going down a bad path, so I knew I needed to do something about my sexual frustration and sexuality issues.

I have kinda gotten better. I only talk to some people here on a semi-consistent basis, but I feel a little less depressed.

I live a somewhat fake life IRL. Almost no one knows I'm Bi. I told my fraternity, and they accepted, but I don't talk about it and I made them promise not to tell anyone.

I still have a lot of internalized hatred for myself, so I still have a long way to go, but EC has got me on a better track.

I just wanted to be somewhere where I can be completely myself and not have to filter what I say to who.

Because I had doubts about my sexual orientation. Right now I'm having doubts about my gender expression. :eusa_thin

Because it looked like a pretty cool website. ^.^ I had already figured out my orientation and was even out to a group of close friends. But I don't think I necessarily joined looking for advice or anything like that.

I joined to be around other LGBT people because I'd never known any growing up. I mostly lurk though :icon_wink

I wanted to feel a part of the LGBT community and talk with others like me. Also to feel normal and be able to talk about my crushes, because I have to tone down my "admiration" IRL.

I came to EC because I was questioning, and needed support whilst figuring out who/what I am sexuality-wise. I went through many stages, and finally settled on bisexual, and that label suits me perfectly.
