Do You Have To Hide That You Go On EC?

No, actually my mom saw this site when I first found it. My parents are sort of strict about the internet, but she thought this site was a great idea. It doesn't mean I want her seeing everything I post here though

I suppose the biggest danger would be if they knew you were on it, and became members themselves just so they could figure out which posts are yours and read them all. that would be an awful situation. we share a lot of stuff freely here because we believe that it is a safe place, but that would be quite awkward.

 

Nope. It would be awkward if my family found EC but nothing compared to what's already happened. On my scale of awkwardness it would be a 3 out of 10.

My dad says modern technology is from aliens but he plays video games like Dragon Age almost every day. He was playing Dark Souls II a few hours ago. My mom is kind of tech savvy and has a mobile phone permanently attached to her ear.

This is my computer and I pay the internet bills. They respect my privacy. I even remember my mom's passwords because sometimes she forgets. I could do a lot of damage if I were some unscrupulous person. I would never abuse the trust people place in me unless they abuse animals or something.

 

I'm not out to my parents because they're not accepting of the LGBT+ community, so I always go on EC in an incognito window in my room.

Yeah I have to hide the fact I'm on EC. My mum would kill me if she found out. I use it on my phone and I delete the history anyways.

 

My parents aren't the type to snoop around my internet history and stuff but I still hide it just in case. On my laptop, I only use EC in an incognito window (google chrome) and on my phone, I just clear the history right away. I'm not super worried about my parents, though. I don't think they would say anything if they knew about it.

I used to but my mom saw me quickly change tab and asked me why I did it so I told her evrything about EC... and now she's proud of me for offering advice to others and asking for advice from others!

I mainly use EC on my phone or ' In Private ' on my computer. I don't tell my family because they'll ask questions. But I might tell my LGBT+ school friends about this site :S

 

I think the biggest reason for hiding it is that if they know that we're on it, it doesn't take much effort to go on and figure out which posts are from us, and then know all kinds of stuff that we're meant to be kept in the confidence of this forum. Or if we aren't hiding it, then we'll probably be much less open with what we say, even perhaps just lurking, and missing out on a great opportunity to work through our feelings.

Yes I do have to hide that I go on EC. I only come on here from my iPad which has a passcode, I use a private browsing tab and then clear my history and cookies after using it.

I don't use my own laptop becuase my mom found out my password and has snooped around on it in the past.
