When I was 4-5 yrs old, I developed a crush on Johnny Bravo, Samurai Jack, and Disney's Hercules. But it took me several years (when I am 7-8 yrs old) to realize that I am homo. Aand it took me until senior year (high school) to accept it.

Sexuality (in regards to liking girls): First conscious hints around 13ish, more fully realised it around 16/17

Gender: First conscious hints around 16, more or less realised around 17

Probably around 10. But I didn't think I should've been feeling those things for other girls so I pretty much pushed past and focused on guys because that's what I "should" be doing. I met my husband at 17. Fell deeply in love, got married, had kids. I'm 28 and just within this last year I'm allowing myself to not supress some things that happened to me, or how I feel towards women. It's been an interesting self discovery thus far. Especially when already being married......

For my sexuality, I knew I was different at around 11, I guess, but I didn't start really questioning until I was 13. For my gender, I started questioning at 14, but now that I look back on my life, there were so many signs pointing towards me being nonbinary :/

It probably started around 12/13, but I dismissed it as a phase of development. I was 20 and going to university in London when I knew I wanted to have sex with another man. The first time I slow dance with another man I almost melted into the floor. LOL.

In regards to gender, last year. Realizing that I've never been able to think of myself as female... took me almost twenty years to finally catch on to what my brain subconsciously knew since I was five when I kept saying that I "wanted" to be a boy. :eusa_doh:

In regards to being asexual? I've known that forever.

Well, tbh, when I was around 9/10 I did some things with girls. Didn't really think nothing of it until I started questioning around 20. I'm still having trouble accepting that fact that I may like women.

I think deep down I always knew...I just could not explain or comprehend it until I was 12 or 13. I grew up in a ultra-conservative house though so I have not accepted it until the last few years.

I was only really aware of crushes on guys until I was 18, when I became infatuated with a female character for the first time.

I've been giving this some thought and I realize that there are basically six different answers I can give:

    1. Should have first realized I was gay when I was 5-7ish. Relished the opportunity to change with my brothers and cousin. I liked seeing them naked and I liked having them see me naked. Had dreams about being naked with my one friend :icon_redf. I also tried to imagine what my friends looked like naked. I was also infaturated with my older brother's friends but I certainly didn't recognize it at the time. "Dreams about naked boys? Yep I'm definitely straight."

That's not even getting into the sterotypical signs (liked goin to plays and musicals, dancing and singing in the living room, liked playing barbies with my one girl friend, got along very well with girls, was much more sensitive than my brothers etc etc, )

    2. When I was 10-13. Liked looking at the men on the packages of underwear at the store and I would look at drawings of nude men and statues in my encyclopedia set and an anatomy book I had. Basically Did some experimenting with a friend. Mutual masturbation, oral sex. Though it became clear quite quickly that I was enjoying it far more than him and it stopped being experimental. We did it about a dozen times and each time I initated. I think he kind of went along with it just because it was a way to get off.

Still didn't think I was gay though, my powers of denial were clearly the stuff of legend. I felt ashamed of these feelings because I was taught that guys kissing was disgusting and that it was wrong for two men to be together. Lots of gay bashing by friends and family that I admittedly didn't notice until years later.

    3. Around 15. Started reading erotic stories with boys in them. I convinced myself that it wasn't gay because I didn't type in the word "gay" in google. So clearly it wasn't gay :icon_bigg:. It mostly started out as mutual masturbation stories or solo masturbation stories with guys. Though I would supplement them with stories with girls in them too because I was clearly not gay :icon_wink.

Also, had my first celebrity crush with Josh Hutcherson when he was in Bridge to Terebithia. Did I realize I was gay then? Of course not.

    4. Around 18. Began entertaining the fact that I wasn't straight. Read more stories with gay sex. Began really fantasizing about having sex with men.

    5. Around 21. Figured I was probably bisexual but I realized that I just thought girls "looked pretty" sometimes. But they didn't give me the same feelings as guys do. Essentially with guys there was a clear sexual and romantic attraction while wiith women its more of a "they look nice" kind of thing.

It was also around this time that I fell hopelessly head over heels, depressingly desperately in love with my best friend. Which brought on all sorts of problems (bleh :icon_sad:slight_smile:. But I still wasn't ready to admit I was gay .

    6. Finally FINALLY admitted to myself with confidence that I am a gay man about a year ago. It certainly took me long enough but here I am with my gay self

When I first discovered the Kinsey scale around age 15, I could put into words the feelings I had toward boys in addition to girls. Over time the interest in boys got stronger as I stopped fighting it, and I realized at 26 that I'm G and not B in "LGBT"

Pretty much when puberty hit me with all it's raw brutality, I started having those dreams of other boys when I was 12. I just didn't know what these feelings meant, it was a good 2 years before I asked myself "dude, you might be gay".

Sexuality: I started questioning around 11 or 12, still haven't got things completely worked out but I've long since accepted myself as queer.

Gender: only really figured it out around September or so.

Very much the same for me. I think the ages were the same too.

I think i always kinda new, as long as i could remember. However, I didn't know what gay meant until i was like 9 mabye, and i only really knew what it meant like when i was 11 or 12, through youtubers like davey wavey, and informationsl websites, like here( i discovered EC, much later though, like this summer.) i started to wonder if mabye i was one of those people fighting for marriage equality. For a while, up till recently i thought i was bi, but that's probabbly not the case. I did have one girl in my class i was friends with who was lesbian, but we don't no more cause of drama and different schools. So here I am in highschool, still wondering what exactly i am sexually wise, but i'm oretty sure i'm gay. I think, still don't know for sure, but that's likely it. :/

Gender: Started questioning when I hit puberty, realized I was probably trans when I was maybe 13? It took a while to really come around to it though.

Sexuality: Pretty much always knew I liked guys, although there was some confusion while I was figuring out the gender part, heh.

I didn't really have any concept of what gay was until I was in high school, so I'd say I can look back and remember being attracted to other girls as early as probably 5th grade or so, but I didn't start actually questioning my sexuality until my late teens.

Pretty much accepted I was a lesbian in my early 20s, but mostly ignored it and didn't really become comfortable with the idea until sometime in my 30s.
