John Candy, Tupac and Biggie, and Heath Ledger are the 4 that come to mind.

    Oh yea, Paul Walker also.

Jean Harlow...so young...so funny...to die because of a beating from her first wacko husband years before and a fanatical Christian Scientist mother.

Keith Moon, still. The band had to go for over 30 years without him and only found someone remotely close to his talent within this decade.

I try so hard not to get pulled into the emotional heart-jerking of celebrity deaths.... But Princess Diana still hurts. That was just... I was young enough to be absolutely shell-shocked, and old enough that I still remember every single part of hearing the news, the aftermath, etc.

Aaliyah for sure. I still wish while listening to her music that she'd still be there, she was so young and beautiful and her voice was so unique. She was genuine and humble. Her death happened all of a sudden (a plane crash that could've been prevented) and even though I did not know her at that time, I know that it caused a lot of shock when it broke through the news.

I am reviving this thread, since time has passed and thus many other famous people kicked the bucket. Such as Robin Williams.

I was just going to say Robin Williams.

    Also, Alan Rickman.

    Alan Rickman.
One of my favorite actors ever.

Christopher Lee, for the same reason.

    But yet...
Even they don't compare to the death of Satoru Iwata.

Rest in Peace... and thank you. For everything.

Paul Walker really sticks out in my mind. I really liked him as an actor and the way he died was just so tragic.

Bob hoskins: it was so random and unexpected! Still a big fan.

Robin williams: he was a suicide, but i'll always remember him as the voice of the genie in aladdin and as ms doubtfire.

Whitney houston: she was my childhood! And she died so young...

Michael Jackson's death really shocked me and left me still. He was such a huge part of my upbringing; everything from his dance, fashion sense, and voice I tried to mimic. IDGAF what anyone says about him he is the most influential popstar of the century, one of the greatest entertainers of all time, and the most well-known black celebrity of all time with a presence like no other. I didn't know how much of an inspiration he was to me until he passed on; I guess he was just one of those people I expected to live on forever.

More recently Wes Craven's death really shocked me. Upon realizing it I was just like "yep, Scream the Series is going to suck now"; "we'll never have a Scream 5"; "horror is officially dead". To me he is the man who single handily saved the horror genre when it was on it's way out.

For me that hit me the most was Ronnie James Dio. He was a huge influence on me as a singer and I had seen him several times with heaven and hell leading up to his death.

    River Phoenix and Heath Ledger.

Both of them were talented individuals who died young from drug overdose.
