To you, what was the most tragic celebrity death?

Hiroshi Yamauchi. He died yesterday and was responsible for Nintendo becoming a video game company.

 

Robert Shaw & Dennis Weaver.

 

JFK jr. and Sonny Bono They both died by skiing into a tree. Oops, I got the wrong Kennedy. It was Michael Kennedy that died skiing.

 

John Lennon, hands down. Though could add so many of that greatest rock generation. Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison...

From high school, James Dean. He was sooo beautiful.

 

For me, Heath Ledger. He was one of my favourite actors, I grew up watching him in stuff and he was just so talented and seemed like such an all-round lovely person.

Michael Jackson is a close second. I know his personal life was what is was, but at the end of the day, he was extremely talented and an icon and made great music and is missed for that.

 

Leslie Nielsen. He was a master at comedy and my favorite comedy actor.

I'm a huge celebrity/pop culture fan.

There's so many different people that could fit this, each with their own reason. After reading this, I agree that Natasha Richardson's death was totally sad. She was a wonderful person. She didn't do anything wrong, at all. She had an accident and that was it.

One that will always stick in my mind is Princess Diana. I guess you could say I idolized her as a kid (and still do!) I remember reading more about her and realizing that I related to her, in certain ways. I always tried to be prim and proper, but I had my inner problems.

To add to all this, all death is sad. Let's remember everyone who touched our lives!

 

I'd have to think about it.

But it wouldn't be anyone who died from a drug overdose or speeding in a 6 digit ($) sports car.

It would be someone who died young, through illness, or by an accident, and, above all, made a significant contribution, either socially or philanthropically, so Anna Nicole Smith and Michael Jackson do not qualify.

Yes, this resonates. She just minded her own business and was a good actress. Most people don't die from taking a tumble on a bunny slope. I've also been to the ski resort where she died, prior to her death, and it makes it eerier. I remember the disbelief I felt. I've taken much worse spills when skiing and I'm still here.

I think he was more of a creative genius it the music field than most people give him credit for and there where more people who were started in the business by following in his creative footsteps that people think

 

Eugh, I don't think I can imagine the public response to when Queen Elizabeth dies. All these are relatively minor celebrities. Although I'm not fond of her, I imagine that the general reaction will be ridiculous, with expressions of grief over a woman most of the grievers will never have met.

Diana's was ridiculous enough.

 

indeed it was... he was such a brilliant actor. After his death i felt like I'd actually lost a friend. Cory Monteith ... Glee will never be the same again (PROUD GLEEACH!)

we should all be so lucky

I would love to be able to be these people or under these circumstances

 

Michael Jackson for sure... He died too soon. He was such an amazing humanitarian. All entertainers look up to him m(_ _)m

 

Lady Diana. I don't know, I just love her and she has charisma. I love how my elder talks about her, how she was so famous and adorable and beautiful and soo on. I also love seeing her pictures in google haha

 

This is generally the case for me as well. In some cases I even feel elation at their deaths. Margaret Thatcher comes to mind. But for some reason I felt jolted upon learning about Paul Walker's death.
