I grew up with the Beatles. To me the most tragic was the death of John Lennon, all the music he could have written, gone forever.

Oh yeah I know he's a legend, but I mean if he were still alive he'd probably be one of the greatest guitarist on the planet. He's my idol when it comes to guitar.

Watch this. It starts off pretty stupid, but trust me this guy is probably the best guitarist I've ever seen in my life. I wish I had his hands... and talent.

Definitely Michael Jackson. It's crazy how many of these celebrities died because of drugs.

For me, most of the tragic ones are of people who have unselfishly given of themselves to help their countries, and are VIPs more so than celebrities:

    - Benazir Bhutto, the Harvard educated woman who was once a Prime Minister for Pakistan and was assassinated
    - Falcone and Borsellino, two judges who advanced the anti-mafia cause in Italy and lost their lives

Tragic losses of movie stars and celebrities are those who are stalked by fans and adversaries: John Lennon, Gianni Versace, and Selena (in 1995 and in Texas)

A lot of entertainers have died because of drug use. Living that existence is obviously stressful. Should they have know better? Who can say? They really don't know when a dose of what they've previously used to avoid pain becomes lethal.

Among these, one perplexes me. In the classic film "The Pink Panther" was an actress named Capucine. Actors and actresses with ONE name are hard to forget. I happened onto her biography on NNDB. She committed suicide at age 62. She had an aristocratic look and was living in Switzerland, but her bio indicates struggles with mental illness, a previous attempt, and relationships that didn't last long. I remember this link because it contains the word "autodefenestration" which, in simple language, means jumping out the window. Here's the link:

Three that cross my mind are Kurt Cobain, Stanley Kubrick and Rémy Belvaux. Also, now that I think of it, I remember being devastated when Robert L. Manahan (the voice of Zordon from the Power Rangers franchise) passed away. I cried like a baby the whole day.

I care very little for when celebrities die. I don't know any celebrities (unless politicians count), so celebrity deaths never bother me.

Kurt Cobain. He was my idol. And I'm a huge Muppets fan so I was a wreck when Jerry Nelson (the Count, Muppet Show announcer, etc) passed away. Jim Henson, going to add him to the list.

I was gonna say Kurt, but I wasn't alive. Him or Dimebag. So much fucking talent, and it's all gone...

I haven't been around that long or been into the celebrities a lot, but I would probably have to say that some of the most tragic were Heath Ledger and Princess Diana. A lot of people have already said those two, and I also think the deaths of Freddie Mercury, Whitney Houston, John Lennon, and Mitch Lucker were tragic as well.

Mitch Lucker was the first celebrity / singer death that I experienced first-hand at the time that it happened. Some of my friends are big fans of his band and the Tumblr blog that I run has a lot of followers that were fans as well. I was never into the music of Suicide Silence, but I listened to and liked some of their songs, and so did my friends and followers. It was hard for many other people - those that say their lives were changed by their / his music, that he was their idol, etc. - and because it was so heartbreaking for those other people I also felt sad. It's the first celebrity death I cried over, too, even if I didn't admire him or wasn't that into his music. It's more the sense of a community being shattered over someone's death that gets to me, and I suppose this is also the reaction that happens when many good people and celebrities die or pass tragically.

Okay, I want to know. What was so goddamn sad about Princess Dianna? She was royalty! Royalty aren't worth feeling bad for...

Unless I'm missing some massive fact due to not being around at the time.

To be honest I am stuck between Cory Monteith, Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse
