^ If the moon was made of spare ribs would you eat it, I know I would.

Dallas Boston and Colorado as a kid, Toronto as a teenager, now Sabres and Boston fan. I don't consider myself a part of Toronto though I am considered the GTA, so I really don't feel an obligation to them, a lot of people in my town are Montreal fans.

Toronto also hasn't warranted being a favourite team.

    Watch their games though

With how shitty the Sabres have been playing, I almost wish there was still a lockout.

    What a disaster.

Yay, Leafs won today! JVR continues to make me forget about Luke Schenn, and Holzer with his first career goal!

    Dumb trade by the Flyers.

Luke Schenn is a train wreck and JVR has more potential by far.

Not sure why Schenn had so much hype to begin with; he was never really good.

I think it's the way people overrate stay-at-home defensemen, especially certain attributes commonly found among such defensemen even if they suck. Attributes like: hitting hard, size (it can be advantageous to be a big defenseman, but size alone won't turn you into a terrific defender [see Mike Komisarek]), blocking shots (which is something many fans and broadcasters don't fully understand how to measure it), and facepunching. People usually ignore what makes good defensemen GOOD (whether talented offensively or not), like good skating, positioning, hockey IQ, passing skills, etc.

    Yup, absolutely.

I will take a d-man who doesn't hit at all if he's sound positionally. Nick Lidstrom was far from physical, but man he was just flawless positionally and always had an "active" stick as Eddie Olczyk likes to say. And, usually, if you're in good position, you're going to get shot blocks.

Shot blocking is not a positive stat. If your blocking shots your team doesn't have the puck. Drives me bonkers when people brag about how good their team is at blocking shots. I'm more proud that my team has puck possession.

Lack of time surely does suck :frowning2: I can't always make all our practises either, and then I'm not a happy person until the next practise

This, too. I guess I'm not the only person who values puck possession (Corsi/Fenwick FTW!).

The Sabres tie the game with two seconds to go!

Vanek gets the goal -- again.

    Suck it, Montreal.

I wonder how long Vanek will go at >2 PPG.

Canucks looking good tonight, up 4-0 on Minnesota at the end of the 2nd.

I love the Anaheim Ducks! I went to their last two home games (vs. the Wild and the Kings) and they won both. I got to see Bonino perform his first hat trick live! Does anyone know how they did at their recent away game? I'll have to google it, but last time I checked Ducks were in 5th overall?

They won against Colorado 3-0. They are tied for 2nd in the league.
