Latter Days is a good one to watch when religion and sexuality come into conflict. It also had some interesting plot twists.
After re-watching it last night, I would also like to point out that it is very surreal with all the coincidences that occur during the plot. Nevertheless it's a good film to watch.
3 Generations (aka About Ray) is finally out on iTunes (not sure if it was out on Netflix or DVD/Bluray already. About an FTM guy who lives with his mother and lesbian grandmother).
idk if anyone has already mentioned it, but But I'm a Cheerleader is one of my favorite movies and really helped me realize who i am
I recently watched Boy meets Girl which has become my favourite film. I don't know if it counts but I also like worried about the boy which is about Boy George just before he became famous and the relationships he had at the time
Wonder Woman was very enjoyable lol. I went to work the next day and went on and on how she was hot. For some reason I thought her aunt was hotter though maybe because she was bad ass.
I've watched quite a lot. These are the ones that I liked: I cant think straight Loving Annabelle Saving Face Yes or No 1 Kiss Me Bound Imagine Me and You
I was looking for a movie to watch, and read your post.. then googled it, and say it's a gay movie, and i prefer watching lesbian movies.. but then saw the trailer and made me feel giddy lol... will watch it tonight when i get home after watching spiderman movie at the theater.. thanks!
No idea if this has been mentioned but Margarita with a Straw is a brilliant one worth watching on Netflix - found it very moving
My list of worth watching -Private Romeo -Free Fall -Hedwig and the Angry Inch -The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert -Christopher and His Kind -Pride -Boys Culture
OMG only like 40 times. You can prob already tell I loved it. It was actually the movie that got me thinking about all my past feelings towards women lol. I guess it kind of gave me an ah ha moment. Anyway I think it is a beautiful movie. I think the thing that got me is that I thought of it as a love story which felt so right and never oh that is a lesbian/gay love story for some reason. It was just love.
Carol is probably my favorite movie ever.. it really is extremely well-done. The only real gripe I have is that there's practically no racial diversity. May have been mentioned already, but another, less talked-about film is Better Than Chocolate from 1999. It's rather corny, but still cute nonetheless. Also the more recent film Jenny's Wedding, although I found the two leading actresses to have no chemistry at all. :/
Oh my gosh yes! I found it to be an amazing love story, not just a lesbian love story. Honestly, the best romance movie of the decade, I'm a little partial to Cate though!
I'm not surprised. 1950's America wasn't exactly a beacon of diversity and inclusiveness. Also nice profile pic !
Watched two more today: G.B.F. - (Gay Best Friend) Long story short, it's the gay version of Mean Girls. A fun teen comedy film about coming out in high school. Holding the Man - A story about the relationship of two men and how it was tragically cut short by HIV. Very sad and touching story based on true events.
