I can't believe this terrible news. Jerry told me I had a "PhD in mothering" and I will never ever forget that. Fred, it would be great if we could gather some pictures of Jerry and Dan and do a tribute to him in the magazine.

Holy fuck that was a shock when I saw the thread title at first I thought it was something different... He was such a huge part of EC and he just fit in so well with being a doctor and all, he had the best advice and it was researched too due to his job. EC will be way different without him, no longer can we say "We'll wait for JayHew to see the thread and post". :frowning2:

This is the first person I know from a forum that has died too, and I've been using forums for a long time... So it was a shock. I never talked to JayHew via PM or anything so I kinda wish I did (I usually try to talk to heaps of people by PMs...) :frowning2: RIP mate!

Well, the great thing about having Jerry here is that his posts live on. He left us some great information to go back and refer to.

What a terrible shock, and a terrible loss! I'm certainly appreciative of Jerry's contributions here. He'll be missed.

I've never 'lost' someone from an online group before. It's a very different experience - one that's difficult to process through this 'virtual' community that we have. Yet at the same time the emotions are similar to losing anyone that is special. It's a sad day here on Empty Closets, that's for certain.

Such a shame to see a smart man like that die. At least he's in a better place now, right?

...My condolences for his friends, his family, and his lover.

My condolences to his partner and all others effected by this. I've commented on ###, but it bears repeating - this is horrible news. Admittedly, not the first person I've known on a forum to die, since just a little while ago a wonderful guy on ### died at 24 of cancer. Now JayHew has followed him, just ten days later.

    Rest in peace.

This is very sad and shocking news. I've only been here a while but it still really upsets me - I can only imagine what his friends and family are going through. I'm thinking of them at this hard time.

Jerry devoted a lot of time to EC. Not only in responding to threads here and compiling some excellent "stickies", but also helping and supporting several members on an individual basis.

He was just 59 and will be sadly missed.
