I am a gay man who likes watching lesbian porn. I get turned on by it, but I am pretty sure I am gay. Could it be that I am just attracted to the idea of 2 women engaging in a homosexual act? I thought of myself as bisexual in the past, but I just don't have any romantic attraction to women. I know porn has little to do with sexual orientation.

Do you have sexual thoughts and fantasies of women? Can you imagine yourself having sex and enjoying it with a female? Does the female body turn you on? Do you find yourself aroused by attractive females in public? Do you find yourself aroused by the way females smell? Their breasts? Their legs? Their "parts?" If you say yes to all, then you are most likely bisexual and not gay.

But if the answer is no, you are most likely aroused by the "sexual acts" in the porn rather than the females themselves. This isn't unusual and it doesn't mean you are not gay. Even lesbians can enjoy gay porn. Straight men can even enjoy the "taboo" factor centered on gay porn and tranny porn. I used to enjoy watching the sexual acts in lesbian porn, but I'm completely gay.

You bring up some very good points. I guess I could be bisexual. But since I have no romantic attraction towards women I will just stick to dating guys.

I have an odd answer based on a study done about...oh 2 years ago.

They surveyed what arouses men and women. Stupid study but people obviously wanted to know because cancer is too boring to study.

Men...most men, were clearly ONLY aroused by the gender they desired. Homosexual men by gay/straight porn, heterosexual men by straight/lesbian porn. The opposite didnt arouse them, even a little, via brain scans.

Women on the other hand, whether they were heterosexual, homosexual or bisexual...EVERYTHING aroused them. Straight, gay, lesbian, trans...it didn't matter. Their brains lit up like a Christmas tree in times square.

There are some lesbians, who don't get aroused at everything.....although most women do. Their brains could be wired similar to males...as the other study showed, allowing only selective arousal based on orientation.

That being said....there have been studies showing that some gay men have the hemispheres of the wiring in their brain similar to women. Perhaps...just perhaps your wiring allows you to be aroused by anything the way 90% of women are.

Your orientation and what sexually arouses you are not the same, just as it is with women. You may not act on it...but it does arouse you and allow pleasure.
    Just a thought....

I consider myslf straight, and I watchd lesbian porn mostly , and came like several times with girls during foreplay. I had 2 gay fantasies and the thing is that out of my 10 attempts to watch gay porn one time I got turned on by the foreplay mostly. I am also turned on a lot by sex stories kind of like women lol.
    My conclusions are the following.
Sometimes sex is just sexy and its a turn on.
Male sexual fluidity and bisexuality is indeed a legitimate thing, not always but it does in fact exist.

At the and of the day, some people might just need to experience both in order to know what thy like more.

The thing is I have acted on sexual urges with women, and very much enjoyed it. Hell I have had relationships with women. It's just that I feel like I never was in love with my former ex-girlfriends. I felt like it was more like a really good friendship. I can't tell you which is better gay sex or straight sex, because that is comparing apples to oranges.

    Cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the club! haha you know, I wouldn't fret too much about it. I don't think that viewing porn has as much to do with your orientation as you think it would. I think the most important thing is what you feel in the real world. Do you feel attracted to the person in front of you or not? That's all.

My assumption is that people can be interested in things that they wouldn't do in real life...like a curiousity, also if you associate that with sex then of course you might be attracted to just associating it to sex not neccessarily the ladies. Furthermore, it is possible that living in a heterosexist society and having more or less been pushed to be view women in that light has led to this association mechanism. Hope that helped!

I'm a lesbian who enjoys watching gay porn but I know that it doesn't make me any less of a lesbian. I also like watching solos of strictly GAY men self pleasuring. I won't watch though if the guy is described as a straight guy because it turns me off. Although I like watching I'd never want that dick inside of me or near me though! I also love queer women porn, but straight porn grosses me the eff out!

fortheloveoflez you might be right when you say " it is possible that living in a heterosexist society and having more or less been pushed to be view women in that light has led to this association mechanism. "

I wouldn't rule out women completely though. Sexual orientation has nothing to do with romance. It is who you desire sexually, a very primal thing. Gay is that label for the unique people who don't have that primal instinct towards the opposite sex.

Yes and no. You admit you have sexual urges and enjoy sex with women. That is not because of society, it's part of your sexual orientation. You can't force these urges or desires.

The thing is that I think it would be a bad decision to date women again. Sure, I do like them sexually, but every relationship I have had with them ends up the same way. It could be that some of the relationships did have huge problems, because most of the time they were either doing pills or I was drinking heavily. But the last relationship I had was with a woman and as hard as I would try I could not love her in that way.

Can I ask a question regarding "lesbian porn"?

Does that mean porn featuring lesbians, or porn made by lesbians?

To me there's a huge difference. At least in my head.

Also, I think that some people can get turned on or off by the perceived sexuality of a situation, almost regardless of orientation. So maybe you just like how they move and what they do. You find it exciting. Does it really require a specific label?

For example straight porn. I am straight. But I stopped watching porn as a great deal of it is more about beating the seven shades out of women than actually doing the deed. I find this to be a massive turn off, but that doesn't say much about my orientation, right?

Porn featuring lesbians. I guess the more and more I think about it is that I am bisexual probably as far as sexual part of my orientation.

Just my personal opinion, but mate...I say forget the label and just go with it

Go with who you are. If you meet someone and you really hit it off with them...well, at that point you might have a better idea!

I will say that most relationships really don't do well when drugs are involved. I'm sorry you had to go deal with that.

You can be a gay guy who enjoys watching lesbian porn for the pure sexual act... but since you seem to like the female body and have urges for women then you're most likely bi. Bi needs some visibility though. You can be bi and only date one gender

    Hey Andrew,

Nice to meet you! My name is Matt and I am extremely similar to you.

I am sexually attracted to women, watch lesbian porn or female solo, have only dated women but never really felt I was in love.

I'm 28 and everyday a voice inside my head tells me i'm gay. I believe I have had crushes on men, but more in the romantic side of things.

I have never had a gay experience but always feel I am gay, even though sexually all signs point to no.

I am very very depressed in my current state right now, basically a zombie.

Currently I am dating an amazing women, I love her, but I don't believe I am "in" love with her. You really nailed it by saying it just feels like a really good relationship.

I have a vicious cycle of:
    - dating women
    - becoming depressed
    - breaking up, accepting i'm gay
    - feeling awesome and incredibly confident
    - then sleeping with another women due to sexually urges (mainly when i'm drunk)
    - feeling all loved up and think they could be the one
    - dating them, then falling depressed again :/
    - breaking up, accepting i'm gay.....

My question to you is did it feel right, and did you loose any depression you had when you started dating men?????? How did you start dating men??

    Sorry for the long post,
    Cheers

Sometimes people get turned on by things that seem risky or wrong. Some straight men watch gay porn but this doesn't necessarily make them gay, although you'd think it would.

jalen it sure is. By the way it's good to see another Hoosier on here. I think I have pretty much decided I should only date guys. I guess now that I have came to this conclusion I should probably be working on coming out.
