I'll put it as simply and as truthful as it is.

Man City have bribed Uefa to let them spend as much as they need to.

The rules state you cannot have debts of X and they way over spent and did have such debts. They broke the rules, and because breaking these rules gave them a clear advantage, allowing them to get better players. They cheated.

You get a points deduction for fielding illegible players. It's seen as cheating because you shouldn't be playing that player so you're getting an advantage. City shouldn't have those players because they couldn't afford them (in a sense of in accordance with the rules), why's it any different?

Good point, more should be done to punish teams that break the rules. If the likes of Man City keep it up they might eventually get a points deduction. I think there was a chance of them getting a transfer embargo.

    Absolutely ridiculous punishment.

Didn't Malaga get banned from the Champions League for overspending?

Bit different. They were banned because they were basically broke, couldn't pay player's wages & taxes. Essentially the same way Portsmouth went, just simply broke. No doubt probably overspent somewhere along the line, but it wasn't because of FFP they got removed from CL football.

Yeah, but it's a little similar. FFP was put in to stop that happening.
Overspending should deal the same punishment, since you're essentially risking it.

Their wage bill is less then West Ham's!
I'm so glad they won (even if Barca had to lose!) It is good for Spanish football in general and Atletico is such a nice team - Simeone is a great guy, their players are hard working. It's not a bought trophy like so others, it is a genuinely earnt one and that is so pleasing!

It will be interesting to see if they can keep Simeone after this season, especially if Diego Costa and Koke end up being sold.

I have a feeling that Simeone will probably get the Argentina job if they mess up at the World Cup.

Also, I think Costa will end up at Chelsea (And probably be an expensive flop)

I bought him for Liverpool in FIFA 14 and he was a disaster. Like 8 goals and 2 assists in 50+ appearances (and most of the goals were in the cups against lesser opposition).

And just so you don't think I'm a garbage player lol, I was knocking in 25 with Sturridge!

Man City posted a happy birthday on Twitter and apparently got him a cake though...
    ...It's hilarious though!
I'm sure Liverpool would take him.

Yaya is going to get some funny chants from the fans for this next season haha. There is also a rumour that Barca are interested in Silva.

    Really?
I haven't heard that rumour. That would be interesting. Replacement for Xavi maybe?
I've heard about a billion other rumours of who we want, but then it has also been reported that we are only willing to be spend £80m plus anything from transfers, so I don't think we'll be getting everyone haha.
(and when I say we, I mean them :lol:slight_smile:

Does it really matter that much? Anyone could win the SPL with Celtic these days :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

True, but I'm worried that we'll get another Tony "I lost 4-0 to St Mirren" Mowbray, John "I lost 3-1 to Inverness" Barnes or even -

Haha to be fair Moyes could be a good fit for Celtic. It will be a much easier job then Man U and he might actually be able to win something (the Scottish league only though).

50 million for David "Sideshow Bob" Luiz?!

Wow! By that logic Andy Webster must be worth at least eight million :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
