I'd consider it very bad manners as I really dislike feet, especially feet that have not been taken care of. I'm afraid too many people shove their feet in socks and shoes and completely neglect them. Quite frankly, I don't want to see another persons clammy feet, untrimmed toenails, hardened skin, athletes foot etc.

I can honestly say that I never have and never will have a foot fetish.

I really depends, I normally have flip flops or slippers on in my house to not ruin my socks and the floor is always so cold. I personally don't like wearing shoes in house. If it is okay with the homeowners, I take them off, so not to track dirt inside.

I usually wear socks too but i never wear shoes indoor, it's natural for me to take them off.

I never take my shoes off. Ever. The rare occasion I do, I've always got socks on. The only exception is when I take a shower. And yes, this coming from a guy who has a foot fetish.

I don't know if it is. My family gives me a hard time and people always ask why I am. But maybe it's just them being difficult.

Around here, shoes off is normal. It would be unusual to remove socks, but if one was wearing sandals they wouldn't have socks on...

Where I live, I think it depends on the household. When I'm visiting someone else, I always keep my shoes on, but that's only because I don't trust anyone else's floor cleaning skills other than mine and my mother's. Younger guests normally take off their shoes (and sometimes socks) when they come over, but older adults will keep their shoes on, I've noticed. I walk around barefoot at my house, though. I hate wearing shoes and socks.

I hate wearing shoes. I never wear them around my house, and hardly ever outside. I'll keep them on at another person's house if asked to. But I'll gladly take them off if allowed.

In Ky people are barefoot everywhere, when I go to the park, little boys don't even bring shoes, socks or anything. Though for me personally I hate shoes and socks indoors in my own house, when I go to the park I always wear shoes, and if I go to a friend or family members house I wear socks.

In Finland, very few people wear shoes indoors. Slippers, at most, but for almost everyone, it's either socks or barefoot at one's own home. I prefer barefoot, but during the winter, woollen/thick boot socks are nice.

When visiting someone else, it's uncommon to be barefoot, but I wouldn't exactly say it's frowned upon. Unless your feet are filthy and/or smelly.

Ugh if only it were warm again, can't wait to go walking barefoot in the park.

The Uk is completely mixed in regards to footwear in houses.

It will depend on 2 things - what the owner of the home likes and what the occupants feel comfortable in.

I don't like to wear shoes indoors, so I go with socks or slippers.
I never go bare-footed outdoors either, as I just can't walk whatsoever if I did.

If I go to the beach, it takes me ages to get to the water but then I see people running past me on the stones with nothing on their feet!
    How can they do this?

I like being barefoot at home, sometimes I only use socks, even though I have a big set of slippers...
and when I'm on the countryside or at the beach, I like to walk barefoot in the grass and in the sand -- it makes me feel grounded.

In Canada, the only time one has shoes on in a house is if they are going outside momentarily.

I love being barefooted, I think that by covering your feet you miss out on a whole array of sensations but when I go to other people's houses I respect their rules so I often have to keep my shoes and socks on as it's a bit odd for a guest to take their shoes off where I live. In order to get around this I always end up wearing flip-flops.

At home I'm always barefoot and encourage my guests to do the same when the opportunity arises. It helps to make everything more relaxed and laid-back, unfortunately most of Spain disagrees with me :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Umm... In Africa it's not expected, perhaps depending on your religion/customs/believes whatever but not to most. I like walking barefoot in my own house but not in other people's homes.
