I used inverted colors and I saw the white and gold everyone talked about. It turns out that this is just that inverted color Jesus trick. Basically, what happens when you look at the inverted color Jesus if you stare at it awhile, then you close your eyes or look away, you will see Jesus in a non inverted colored afterimage. (sort of like when you look at a bright light you see an image of that light for a little while) The dress is actually blue and black, but due to this effect you also see the afterimage of the dress being gold and white.

Tl;dr, the dress fits both color options if you invert the image colors.

I see it as gold and white. Well, usually. Sometimes it changes if I look at it from certain angles.

Yeah, I did that too and got the same result.

First time I saw it I saw white and gold....

Now I see blue and black every time.
you have to start at the bottom of the dress and cover the top...
look away then look back at the dress while the top is covered...it'll looked black* and blue

The first time I saw the dress, I saw blue and black. I tried my best to see white and gold, but I do not see that at all. My twin sister sees white and gold, and she was tripping out so much when I told her I didn't see that, lol!

Other pictures I've seen have appeared white and gold. For some reason right now I am seeing Sky and Olive Drab. Must be the darkness in this room, and maybe my eyes are still adjusting from the rose tinted ski goggles I was wearing on the slopes.

I've even seen different shades of the dress. And to me, it just looks like a faded black and blue.

The colors are actually black and blue (confirmed).

    I see black and blue.

The reason some people see it differently is because the brain interprets the surrounding light in different ways. If you see black and blue, you are most likely interpreting it as an artificially light setting. If you are seeing white and gold, you are most likely seeing it as a naturally lit outdoors light setting.

This is the best and most simple explanation I've seen yet.

My theory is that the dress is a telepathic senient being that only reveals its true colours to those it has deemed worthy of protecting our galaxy from the coming alien threat known as The Managers

Just our brains trying to take shortcuts. It's ok though, colors aren't real anyway.

It's supposed to be blue and black, but the shitty lighting, combined with my shitty eyes, make it look white and gold to me.

I've seen it as both, depending on the lighting and viewing angles. I most often see it as White and Gold.
