    I just found out that my future University is going to start providing gender neutral housing options. It seems like my future alma mater keeps getting better and better on LGBTQ issues. :slight_smile:

    My pharmacist at work asked me if I had a special person for Valentine's Day. I said I didn't.

    I felt happy because she asked me without assuming whether this person was a guy or a girl. Maybe I'm over-analyzing the intent behind her question. I know she's gay-friendly though. Meh, nvm...

    You know technology has come too far when one of your roommates brags about ordering a pizza while sitting on the toilet...

    Thanks Mirko. :slight_smile: Hoping I'll like working in the new area and can stick with it. Though even if it goes well, might still try to find something more personally satisfying but at least without the mental drain of this job. x_____x

    Yesterday, I found myself sitting in a coffee shop not far from my apartment building, listening in on a conversation between two retirees who went down memory lane on traveling to different parts of the world. The conversation was fast paced as the focus kept shifting from one place to the next, from one airport to the next. At one point, one of the retirees said: "they have lost my luggage, only to inform me 24 hours later it wasn't lost. Someone else took it instead." Listening to that sentence, I decided to use that sentence, copied word for word, as an idea to get things going.

    I continued to listen intermittently to the conversation, and it turns out that one of the retirees, divides his time between Guatemala and Canada. Apparently, he has found the best dentist in the world in one of the cities he is usually staying and spending time in.

    All in all, I learned some insights into the lives of both men.... that would actually make two great characters in a story.

    Why does everything have to be about women? Do men not face sexual harassment in the gaming community all the time?

    Now, there may very well be exceptions to almost every rule, but I am going to have to go with a definite negative on that one...

    ~~~
    Honestly, it is always the people who face the least adversity and scrutiny in society who wish to convince everyone that they face prejudice and oppression every time they make themselves a sandwich. They cannot fathom the idea that anybody else could face any more hate or discrimination in even the most minuscule community or sector of life.
    Actually, I accidently ordered a cup of ice cream that was nearly twice the size of a reasonable serving recently. It was shameful on my end because I assumed that I would be judged for eating this crate in public. Being that I am not even remotely close to overweight, I did not receive a single snide look. Not a single person thought, "We all know he should be eating a salad". There are millions of people who receive those types of reactions from random people in public. People judging and scrutinizing every calorie they consume because they don't fit into the acceptable mold. I have never faced that type of adversity. I am not oppressed for being a slim male in society and I could not possibly be more content with that fact.
    Those who feel the need to convince everyone that they are oppressed for every breath they take, every hair follicle they have, every trip to the grocery store they make, and any other asinine reason don't even upset me anymore. Despite the fact that they are belittling those who truly do face adversity in society, I honestly just wish that they would learn to love themselves more and not feel uncomfortable when all pity is not directed at them.
    Music is damn beautiful...Youwouldn'tlikemewhenI'mangry by Thom Yorke is such a hazy, beautiful, emotional, strange song. I feel honored to know that it was made when I was alive and knowing of Thom Yorke's existence. Like, realizing that you exist at the same time as art that is as beautiful as this song is can be very emotional for me...Maybe I'm being a bit dramatic, but I just love music :astonished:
