    I needed this thread. My friends have been fantastic since i came out but the other day they were winding me up as we always do and kept saying faggot it depressed me but i like the idea of judging on intent rather than the word itself and your own interpretation of the meaning

    I can see it being used playfully, but if the person who uses it is serious, they expose themselves as a philistine. And that is way worse than liking your own gender.
