Hotel California by The Eagles makes me feel this strange combination of really relaxed and really psyched up. No idea why. Awesome song though.

what i like about that song is that it is inspired by "real" paranormal activity, which is awesome!

"Love Song Requiem" by Trading Yesterday and "Falling Slowly" by Glen Hansard in mainstream music. "Stars and the Moon" and "Painting Her Portrait" in MT music.

I think to him, this song was like his life's story, to that point. He had come out to his friends and family when he was in high school, long before I met him and I don't think it went particularly well. Don't forget, this was the mid 80s - not a great time to be gay. There's also an amusing irony in that, as I said, the last time I spoke to him, he was dating a woman. Meanwhile, I myself was in denial the whole time I lived with him. Policy of Truth, indeed!

sounds tragic, and the lyrics are kind of feel like cold-hearted, it is an amazing song, i now know why you wonder around this song many of us would relate to it very easily...
