Go with whatver song that you feel comfortable singing. Twinkle Twinkle seems like a good one.

Took me a while to figure out what song... This is the song i first learned how to sing, remember it was a while ago so if i don't get the lyrics right dont hate me :frowning2:
Also i'm not a very talented singer so go easy on the insults..
The song is Don't Know Why by Norah Jones. I sing it differently cause that's how my friend sang it to me.

    Just listened to it.
Yep, you sound like a bass.
Spend a little more time listening to the original, because although you aren't nailing the pitch it still manages to sound pleasant . Shame is a useless emotion when learning something you're new too.

My tips: see if you can follow a karaoke version that way you will be able to hear pitch correctness.

Told you I don't know how to sing :frowning2:
And I'm terrible with Kareoke... They always go so damn fast and I mess up.
Also, I don't know how to sing "pitch". I start at a comfortable spot and sing there so I can keep it in my range.

I agree with SecretlyASloth, you sound pleasant. He meant you can use a karaoke or instrumental track and sing over it, or sing while you're listening to the song. What's happening is that you're not staying in the tonality, but it seems to me that if you do more ear training you'll be able to sing in pitch.

About you being a bass, i think you could actually be a baritone, it's just that are scared of hitting higher notes right now. It takes some time to feel comfortable singing, I used to believe I had a really low voice and couldn't hit high notes but with more training and confidence I'm able to sing higher now.

Yea, the karaoke words go so quickly. I will try :frowning2:
Any thing you can recommend to help me sing in pitch?

Would it help to hear the song sung in a similar range that you are doing it?

I'm literally blushing at my laptop thank you very much >_<

*that* came only after A LOT of training and work. You have a better head start than I did tbh. Don't give up so soon. I do recommend calling it a night though. Mama needs his cough syrup.

It's just an issue of ear training. It really isn't anything to be ashamed about, it's like any other skill, you have to work a bit to develop it. Don't get discouraged... I've known many people who didn't have good pitch accuracy when they started, but developed it with practice. You do have nice tone and timbre, and that's harder to change, so I think it's worth staying with it.

SecretlyASloth, did you record it too...:3 lol

Don't feel bad OhSOCurious, it takes a lot of hard work and you also have to get used to listening to your own voice in a recording.

So... i took your advice sloth -_- >.> and I tried singing like Norah (with her music playing). You know... WWND (What Would Norah Do) And i'm getting a little better. When ever i sing the chorus... it's weird cause i can't hear either of our voices... like it's a mix... it's weird. But i don't know if my pitch is right?
