you might want to check that out. David Chin was initially charged with assault with a weapon in the case in Toronto when he apprehended the guy who was repeatedly ripping off his store "the lucky moose" he had a box cutter in his pocket, the courts ruled this was a tool of his trade therefore dismissed the charge. this was the reason the Conservative government changed the self defense/ citizen arrest law.

Yo. I have very little fear since I can engage in hand to hand combat with skilled fighters and come out alive.

If someone is going to shoot you from a distance then it is what it is. Pepper spray or a small dagger is probably best. Even holding your keys as little pointed objects in your fist is a powerful tool if you throw a punch. Girl go to a RAD training. Rape aggression defense.

No matter what protection you have, always go for the eyes. That'll blind them and distract them while you run. Feet (specially toes) are also vulnerable, specially when they have sportswear and you have high heels, so use that too. Also, a good place to kick or punch is the abdomen, since that'll get all the air out and leave them on the floor quickly. Balls are a good spot, too, but chances are they'll be half expecting you to do that.

Another thing they will expect is you to try to get away. Don't. Go for an offensive tactic and push them against a garbage can or something.

vulnerable areas; knees, my favourite if a man can't stand he can't fight, throat if a man cant breath he cant fight, eyes if he cant see he cant fight, balls usually well protected but worth it if you get the chance. kidneys, hard to get to but a hard blow will stop a man, elbows hyper extend that and he cant use both arms against you, back of the neck can paralyze temporarily/permanently or kill . these targets can and are designed to cripple and or kill remember that but it might be better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6 as the saying goes.

Abdomen punches are ineffective against anyone with relative fitness.

    Knees.
    Balls.
    Eyes.
Throat and temple. But those can be lethal.

Most other places are not a good target for inexperienced people.

Also if you DO have to engage someone turn your hips to the side to shrink your surface area. Pulling out your pepper spray will normally put you in defensive stance. But is you don't naturally react then do this. Don't stand straight forward with your hands out.

Yeah, don't you live near a pier? I could get a job swabbing down the watercraft. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

To keep the thread on-topic, maybe I could make with the swab stick like a quarterstaff? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Couple of quick pointers. If you're using a blunt object or bare fisted to defend yourself aim for the face, neck, stomach or kidneys. A blow to the temple can cause disorientation and a possible concussion. The neck is the sweet spot. Even a gentle blow to the Adams apple area can leave your assailant shocked and cause them to feel like they can't breath for a couple of minutes.

Footwork; aim for knees, ankles, crotches. If your assailant is older then 25 chances are their knees won't be able to take the force of a direct kick, always land a kick with your footpad or heel, sides are ok but aren't as effective, never land them with the front of your foot.

Anything pointed: knife, keys, etc etc always go for ribs, never the gut(incapacitation, not murder). Stab and twist. Even if it doesn't break skin, this will cause extreme pain and discomfort long after removal.

Habanero powder: this stuff is potent... You can mix it with water and put it in a squirt gun. Aim for the eyes like mace. Wear gloves when you mix it (1:2) the oil & residue left afterwards is hard to wash off, whatever body part you touch will burn badly.
If you can manage to grow your own habaneros even better, they can be dried in an oven, takes about 37 hours at 140 degrees, crush into a fine powder.(also handy if you love spicy food) (real habanero powder is way spicier then the stuff mcdonalds has in their sauce)
You could also dip whatever self-defense weapon you choose(like a key or knife) in the powder to further add delayed pain to any injury you inflict(the residue)

If it's a lead filled cudgel then it will be sufficient. Like a police baton.

Remember the line of self defense stops at incapacitation, after that it's assault!
