I took this on a different online thing for school, and got INFP. Seems pretty accurate.

Yes, I'm bringing back a dinosaur of a thread...

My mom made me take a Keirsey Temperament Sorter test a few days ago, and I thought it was funny how much the description matched my personality. I took a few different tests afterwards and found that I usually end up ISTJ but sometimes will ring up ISTP. I guess it's my nature to be the J, but I have a constant drive to attain the P.

ISTJ: I'm definitely a rules-follower, and I am very routine-oriented and goal-oriented. I have a really offbeat sense of humor and will just about always perform a task as promised.

ISTP: But at the same time I am a closet daredevil and an athlete, and I'm almost never organized. Oh, and I studied Mechanical Engineering, which is just about as stereotypical as possible.

I saw that there are some sites that provide "ideal relationships" with other types...I think that's a bit of a gimmick, but maybe it does lend to better compatibility. Interesting stuff. Never thought I'd be so compatible with a "performer."

    ESTP
    Extravert (56%)
    Sensing (12%)
    Thinking (50%)
    Perceiving (67%)

I've taken this test so many times over the years and I keep getting the same thing. I usually never see any ESTPs though; I'm surprised there are two other people. (It's also a little shocking how true this is, but of course we're more than just our MBTI type.)

Wow there sure are a lot of INTJs here. I wonder why since that seems to be a more rare type.

I am definitely INTP its what I almost always get
    Introvert(56%) iNtuitive(75%) iNtuitive Thinking(25%) Perceiving(33)%

INTPs are pensive, analytical folks. They may venture so deeply into thought as to seem detached, and often actually are oblivious to the world around them.

Precise about their descriptions, INTPs will often correct others (or be sorely tempted to) if the shade of meaning is a bit off. While annoying to the less concise, this fine discrimination ability gives INTPs so inclined a natural advantage as, for example, grammarians and linguists.

INTPs are relatively easy-going and amenable to almost anything until their principles are violated, about which they may become outspoken and inflexible. They prefer to return, however, to a reserved albeit benign ambiance, not wishing to make spectacles of themselves.

That is totally me except I am NOT good at MAth at all. But I am quite musically gifted.

Quiet, kind, and conscientious. Can be depended on to follow through. Usually puts the needs of others above their own needs. Stable and practical, they value security and traditions. Well-developed sense of space and function. Rich inner world of observations about people. Extremely perceptive of other's feelings. Interested in serving others.

    I'd say that's spot on!!

Can l ask which odd assumptions you speak of?

xD not being snarky. l think a lot of people will try entirely too hard to define themselves according to a strict portrait of w/e type they get. Also l am somewhere between introversion and extraversion, even Jung said this is the norm but you see so many on the MBTI forums claiming extreme introversion and extreme extraversion, as well as overall extreme manifestations of the other aspects of their type.

Also l think that some people just aren't going to going to fit into one type or may change throughout life, a lot of people refuse to accept that.

But l am just curious about which part of the overall system you think is flawed. l think Jung's work could be interpreted in several ways and the MBTI or Keirsey test(basically the same thing) are not necessarily the best interpretations of it.

Being one of the rarest and somewhat odd types,l suppose l like it because it has helped me understand why l'm not that weird and find so many people like me.
