Nancy Boy by Placebo. I think most, or maybe even all songs by Placebo are written from a gay perspective. The lyrics are...suggestive, at least. And have you seen the band themselves??

I know somebody mentioned Frank Ocean's Bad Religion (which is a wonderful song also about unrequited love, which I can relate to massively), but not Frank Ocean himself - he is bisexual, so many of his songs are about men. Off the top of my head I can think of Forrest Gump, which is one of my favourites by him.

Somebody also already mentioned Billy Brown by Mika, which I love to pieces. Again I think but am not entirely sure, but yeah I think most songs by Mika are about men?

I highly recommend listening to these two:

1. "Outlaws of Love" - Adam Lambert
2. "It Gets Better" - Todrick Hall

And this one below, though I personally don't like it, is gay-themed. It was sort of her "coming out" song. She came out close to the time she released the song's corresponding album, and the song is about loving a woman.

"Like Me" - Chely Wright

Re: Gay-themed Songs...

This is lovely, reminds me a lot of the Guillemots' Sao Paolo (not at all LGBT related). I love how both spend minutes building and building.

"boy, you are every colour;
how am I visible?"
"we are still not valid"
The entire album was released in the wake of Proposition 8.
"meet in the night like this is wrong"

"I take you in my mouth like a lion takes his game"

Controversial inclusion. I want to include all the lyrics here. So I am:
"It's been a long, long time
Since I memorised your face
It's been four hours now
Since I wandered through your place
And when I sleep on your couch
I feel very safe
And when you bring the blankets
I cover up my face

I do
Love you
I do
Love you

And when you play guitar
I listen to the strings buzz
The metal vibrates underneath your fingers
And when you crochet
I feel mesmerised and proud

And I would say I love you
But saying it out loud is hard
So I won't say it at all
And I won't stay very long

But you are life I needed all along
I think of you as my brother
Although that sounds dumb

And words are futile devices"

Obvious innuendoes.

Hilariously bad lyrics.

...and countless others.

The Dukes of Stratosphear (XTC using a pseudonym) - Have you seen Jackie?

All their other songs are amazing too, but not LGBT related

"Have you seen Jackie?
He's a strange strange strange little girl
Make up on his face and his hair in curls
Have you seen Jackie?
She's a strange strange strange little boy
Her long black beard is her pride and joy

And all the children follow him around
And all the grownups try to drag her down
So we sing
Hey, leave Jackie alone
Hey, his pigeons have flown
Hey, she's never at home at all these days
Leave Jackie alone"

During a July 2006 airing of the PBS series Soundstage, the group revealed that the song was not written about a girl, but rather a "dude".

The All-American Rejects - It Ends Tonight

I like Same Love by Macklemore. I can relate to it, in a way.

And since when is Nicki's alter ego gay?

I don't hate Nicki Minaj, I just never realized Roman was gay. I didn't mean to offend you, it was an honest question.

Well The Smiths I'm sure will have been mentioned in this thread but I don't have the time to check. Here's a collection of my favourite gay Smiths lyrics.

"How can they see the Love in our eyes
And still they don't believe us?"

"And everything depends upon
How near you stand to me
And if the people stare
Then the people stare
Oh, I really don't know and I really don't care"

"All men have secrets and here is mine
So let it be known
For we have been through hell and high tide
I can surely rely on you ...
And yet you start to recoil
Heavy words are so lightly thrown
But still I'd leap in front of a flying bullet for you"

"End of the pier, end of the bay
You tug my arm, and say : "Give in to lust,
Give up to lust, oh heaven knows we'll
Soon be dust ... "
Oh, I'm not the man you think I am
I'm not the man you think I am"

The only gay themed band that I know is Tegan and Sara and they are aweeeeesome  really love them. I like all their albums, but my favorite one is The Con.

So today I realised this is a trans themed song. There's no other version on youtube but this mixed one... but hey. it's something.

"Ivy drank testosterone,
And wanted just to be alone,
She said I will be a man one day,
Alice ate progesterone,
And just wanted to be alone,
He said I will be a girl one day."

Born this way, by Lady Gaga. I like that song, it`s fun to dance to and it`s got great lyrics. I know she`s not always a popular choice, where I`m from you almost have to admit you like her with shame. But I really don`t. Actually, I don`t believe in the consept :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I lot of songs by Lady GaGa and Adam Lambert are definitely LGBT.
