Rewatched Before Sunset for the first time and as with the previous film loved it as much as when I originally saw it, though for slightly different reasons. Though both the protagonists have matured considerably, in it's own way I'd say it still has a 'romantic' air about it, at least in accordance with where they are in life. If a film has at least one moment which sums itself up for each of us, mine must be when Celine goes to reach out to Jesse then quickly draws back her hand, unnoticed by the latter and treated so non-chalantly by the camera.

I desperately hope to see Before Midnight before it leaves theaters.

A Dangerous Method (David Cronenberg, 2011) - Originally I'd hoped to see some more of his [Cronenberg's] work before coming to this, but as of now the only other one I've seen is A History of Violence [since many of the others unnerve me at the thought of watching them.] Regardless, I, perhaps unsurprisingly, really liked this one and not just for the fact that it dealt with Jung and Freud as well as engaging my weakness for 'period' films. Despite dealing with a "based on true events" scenario that could've easily been turned into a bloated, halfbaked melodrama about "the affair which lead to the making of Carl Jung" this is a relatively muted film, which nonetheless dances with a vaguely darker, ominous [though not sinister] tone. Rather than treating Jung's ideological development or split with Freud as strictly historical fact, these are treated fairly gradually and slowly. And the latter especially is given as palpable a sense of animosity, resentment and betrayal as the relationship with Spielrein.

    So, yeah......I enjoyed it. -_____-

The only thing we got to indicate why is that she had an obsession with Lisa Hoberman and Gus assessment that she was "loony tunes". Apparently gay people protested the movie because the main character was bisexual or because she was the cold-blooded killer and not the cop.

A movie called "Rubber", about a killer tire with psychic powers blowing people's heads up.

Every now and then I like to watch really bad movies. This one was teetering on art school, which was somewhat...unexpected? It was made by a french director, and it had the same feel to it as a lot of other french films I've seen. Some parts were slow, and I found myself wishing they'd cut back to the tire, other parts were pretty funny. It's definitely not for everyone. I still don't know how I feel about it.

Rich and Strange (Alfred Hitchcock, 1931) - Final film in the 'Early Years' set I checked out from the library awhile back and probably my favorite from the lot, though it does lag a little bit. Nonetheless fairly lively, in my opinion, for an early sound film. Like most of the works in the set, gives a slightly wider impression of him beyond a director of 'suspense' [since only one of the films would truly classify as such.] Look forward to revisiting this at some point in the future, as well as have more to say.

My husband and I went to the theater and saw Monsters University Sunday night. I really liked it. It was funny, and I learned something cool from it.

I watched Lincoln on iTunes only to read afterwards that it's considered by historians to be totally inaccurate and that Lincoln may actually have been quite racist. :frowning2:
