Jerry's funeral will take place on Tuesday at 4pm ASK (GMT-9) in Palmer, Alaska. A celebration bonfire will take place on Friday near Chitina, Alaska. If you wish to attend either of these, please PM one of the moderators for more details. Although most of us cannot attend in person, we can be with him in thought and prayer at the time of the funeral. The current time in Alaska is shown here, which should allow you to work out the difference. In UK time the funeral will start at 1am on Wednesday morning.
i think that's a good idea biisme... if as many people as possible can be in that chatroom for that time, we can observe a short silence and try to break the chat room record in his memory.
I won't be able to be on the chatroom at that time (damn schoolnight!) but I will keep Jerry in my thoughts.
11am on Wednesday for me I think. I'll be at school then Him and his family and friends will be in my thoughts though.
Jerry will be in my thoughts and in my heart, although I won't be able to be in the chat room or attend the funeral, my heart will be with his loved ones and family. (&&&) Although this is a very sad moment, whenever I lose a loved one (my aunty last month) I remember only the good times, the laughs we had, the funny things they said or did so that the funeral is a time of rememberance and laughter, not of sadness of things we will not have or things that might have been.
we'll I just realised Anchorage is 22 hours behind...soo....4pm tuesday is 6pm wednesday Australian Eastern Standard Time (daylight savings). I'll be in the chatroom then. If I can't make it, I'm sorry.
Would love to be in the chatroom but 1am UK time is not possible as I have to be up at 5am for a trip up North. However, I'll be there in spirit. Hopefully, it's a good turnout.
Yes, I like the idea of a one minute silence at the start of his funeral. It is an appropriate mark of respect for a great man. I will increase the maximum number of people allowed in one room for the occasion (currently 20, I'll set it to 100 temporarily). Performance could be rather sluggish, but that doesn't matter this one time. I have already told work I will be in late on Wednesday....
aww man i wont belive able to make it but ill log in and leave it there ill be sure to pause in my night for a moment of silence
sorry i can't come either... 1am in britain you know but i have thought of him and hope as many peeps as possible log on.
Perhaps us in the UK could agree an earlier time to gather in the chatroom, remember him and observe a minute's silence. Not ideal but more practical. What about 10pm?
Aww...I guess I won't be able to be on. I'll be at pep band tomorrow night at 7... EDIT: We're expecting a big snow storm tomorrow, so maybe the games will be cancelled and I can be on.
Let's see how many UK members can come together to remember Jerry in the chatroom at 10pm this evening.
