I work outside, and the heat is far worse than the cold. I can bundle up and keep moving to keep relatively warm. Then of course we get brief breaks for some heat. It feels like it's much easier to recover from being cold than being hot. I can hear up five minutes and be ready to go tackle another task. With extreme heat, even after sitting in the air condition, energy is depleted and it takes much longer to feel ready to do something. There's so much clothing than be removed in the heat, and we are required to wear certain garments for protection. In the cold, you can always layer up and be prepared.

Also extreme heat has sent me to the hospital, while cold never has (although of course it could under the right conditions)
