    It's funny how you feel like you're the only one going through all of this until you come onto a site like this. I've never expressed the feelings and thoughts I have before now. In my fantasies I meet someone and we fall so in love it forces me to come out, not that I think that would be easy, but I feel as though it would justify my actions.

    I hid all my feelings until that happened. I fell in love with someone who fell in love with me. That was the crunch time for me and I had to come out.

    You’re so right though. Once I’d searched for help from a forum such as this one, I was shocked as to how many others there were who were going through the same.

    Hey welcome to EC. Im not sure I have much to add but to say try not to be too hard on yourself you haven't set out to end up in this position and feeling like you do. You dont need to rush into any decisions, finding EC and talking to people here is a great first step and whilst it might not be easy I am sure in time you will know what the right steps to take are.
    Breaking up a family is of course not easy and you may or may not decide this is the right thing for you but it is good to remember that children are very resilient and ultimately often what they need most over anything else is happy parents.

    Thanks everyone who's commented on here. The relief I feel now compared to a few days ago when I found this group is incredible. Nothing has changed in my life or circumstances but I feel better knowing I have this safe space.

    I also am in a hetero marriage and have been married a long time. I am omnisexual but my husband has problems with this. I also love my husband and don't want to break up the family. I have an adult son. He is attending college and still at home. It helps me to know there are others out there going through similar experiences. I know it's difficult. I wish you peace and joy.
