It's not. The idea, from "strategic liberals," is that nobody should be defending incest because that "gives bigots ammunition" to say that we're like, the antichrist or something.

The problem with this idea, however, is that reasoning based on the assumption that others will make fallacious arguments isn't reasoning based on the logical merits of the proposition being advanced. It's a problem feminists have variously suffered from, and it's prevented us from approaching issues with the clarity required.

 

There is nothing wrong with incest if both adults are consenting, yes there is the possibility of children having abnormal births but most incestuous couples would know the risk and not pursue it, although if they do then it is still their choice. Its only a percentage that the child will have abnormalities, not a guarantee. I think it should be legalized as why should we deny people the rights to love who they truly love? Us LGBT+ people know exactly how that feels dont we?
