I got my driver's license at 16. I was anxious and couldn't wait to drive myself places so I didn't have to rely on my parents. I have a friend who had a fear of driving and didn't get hers until she was 30.

I'm almost 19 and still haven't taken a step forward to learn, but I will someday, if only the courses wouldn't cost like 500€.

I'm 22 and I don't have it. Almost all of my friends got it at 18 but I'm too scared of driving a car. Maybe someday.

16 for car, 17 for motorcycle, in the process of getting my pilot license.

That’s awesome! I’ve considered aviation school. Do you know if you want to work in the airline service or army? If not that’s cool too. I think flying is a great job.

Just after my 19th birthday. You can't begin learning until 17 in the UK and it costs quite a bit too. I couldn't afford it at 17.

    Er...I haven't.

I've tried learning, twice. Each time I just couldn't do it. In fact, I'm amazed anyone can drive - how can anyone do all those things you need to do at the same time: looking in the mirror, signalling, changing gear, pressing on the clutch - arrgh, even thinking about it makes me feel stressed!

Every time I got in a car and drove I was convinced I was going to kill someone.

I'm 53. So I don't think learning to drive is ever going to happen.

    I can't swim either...

I got mine at 16, I didn't want it but I was forced to earn it by my parents. I have anxiety, and driving just made me so nervous I genuinely wanted nothing to do with it. However, living in rural America, such is a necessity with how spread out everything is. You can't bring back groceries on an ATV, or cross into the next county over every day unfortunately.

Just my amateur license, I did want to become a commercial pilot when I was younger, but due to me being partly colourblind, it would restrict me to flying only during the daytime.

Started learning at 17, passed at 18. Got my own car at 19 with a bit of help from dad. He’s a bit of a car nut so knows what to buy and how to fix them. He’s taught me how to change the engine oil and oil filter and how to strip and clean brakes, and if I ever get a flat tyre I can put the spare wheel on myself no problem. Not many people my age have a clue.
