Have people reacted negatively to your musical tastes before?

People have reacted negatively to my taste, but I honestly don't care. Everyone has different tastes, and unless they're being jerks about it (ex: "How can you even listen to this (insert expletive here)?"), it's whatever. =p

 

Well honestly most guys can't sing they just sound like douche bags. Girls can actually sing and there songs for the most part dont suck some guys do have good songs just some really suck that's all.

 

I have a pretty diverse taste in music, so nobody has ever made fun of me, or reacted negatively to it. There's always something in the mix that they like too, so it's never a major issue

 

I have a very wide taste in music but the problem is that the very few kinds I don't like, are the kinds of music which are listened to by people who like ridiculing others' music tastes.

(I know that's a generalisation and I'm sorry because I know it's not true for everyone but this is in my experience)

 

Yes! I got laughed at in high school for my fave band. It's Depeche Mode. I also listen to a lot of Death Metal and people laugh at the name but that's all usually. I say it's a little like Slayer (Thrash Metal!) and they understand. I also listen to Lady Gaga and I've yet to be ridiculed for it. I thought it would require me to hand over my metalhead card xD Whatever, man, is what I think. I'll listen to whatever I enjoy. I've only met Metal elitists online.

 

I don't listen to much mainstream/pop music and lean towards older and obscure music. Pisses a lot of people off but I could not care less. Don't ever expect me to do DJ duty because I suck at that.

 

My friends usually tease me, saying that I'm a hipster or things like that, because I listen to bands they've never heard of or music genres that sound weird to them.
I don't mind, they're just kidding. I make fun of the lyrics of the songs they hear, to get a revenge.

 

I like a little of everything
So I get hate from all over. The trick is I don't give a crap

 

I listen to R and B and Rap mostly, most of the time it's singers people have never heard of like Ciara or Kelly Rowland, so yeah a bit.

 

Oh, cool, I like Taylor Swift too.
Personally, I often listen to stuff that nobody's ever heard of, so I don't get ridiculed. I like a couple of 1d songs, though... It's my guilty secret, haha.
