I'm a bit of a lefty, progressive, liberal, pro equality, social justice for all etc. My Dad is largely the opposite - conservative/republican through and through (he lives in the US), but not at all religious. I think now he might not be so critical of gay people now he knows one of his sons is one!
My mom doesn't really hold a certain political party but she is pretty conservative. My dad is a libertarian and has a lot of liberal views. I don't hold a party but I have a lot of liberal views.
Both my parents are liberals as far as I know, although we don't talk much about politics. I know my dad is a democrat and my mom is a republican, although she has talked about becoming a democrat to which my dad responds, "then I'll become a republican." I don't know why he wants to keep it like that. As for me, I think politics are stupid and have no interest in them. XD
My parents are full on socialist, MSNBC watching liberal democrats,( we are taught to worship jimmy carter as a god) but my extended family are a mix of blue coller democrats and tea party republicans, my great uncle wont hesitate to rant about "the dirty mexicans"
I am very liberal/progressive/green. So with my mom it is similar?ish? - My mom is pretty liberal on a lot of things but she is also easily influenced so when she hears negatives about some issue she has supported she starts to waiver. My father was socially conservative, somewhat fiscally conservative, but supported fiscally/socially progressive issues IF and only if he saw they would have an impact on him personally. No concern for the benefit of others. My father-in-law and his wife are uber-conservatives and root for all laws/politicians that want to ban, limit, prohibit anything and anyone outside of their conservative ideals. So NO NO NO on sharing political ideologies.
My immediate family and I are all Democrats. I was taught at like 2 or 3 what my parents are. (Yes 2 or 3, oddly. ) But any family past that is ambiguous.
Both the parents are Democrats. I don't believe in siding with political ideologies - I don't think either big party is better than the other, and in all fairness, don't believe in government in general. I don't think any system we've established thus far is truly designed to benefit the people.
