Disgust with Tumblr

Consider me a pervert too because I use it for porn.

 

I used to use it to watch porn aswell...

Also, I like tumblr. I agree there is some people who are way to "social justice." However if you follow the right people, its fine.

I hardly use it anymore, but all I post (really reblog) is mostly beyonce/avril lavigne and other random stuff. Yeah.

 

I agree with OP. The internet unleashes the monster within, especially if anonymous. There is also zero accountability and repetitive active encouragement of destructive behaviour. It's just going to spell disaster on those who're immersed in it.

I remember actively seeking homophobic comments on profiles just because I wanted to reaffirm the threat to myself - some form of justification to feel eternally persecuted. It did not help. I went beyond feeling suicidal, I felt as though I was being sucked in a black hole of eternal meaninglessness. Encouraging/celebrating this crap is going to spell disaster. People are ready to spread their venom if you allow it to happen.

 

It's okay overall. Like others have said, depends on the people you follow and the community.
Gunblr and the rest of the military side of Tumblr(discounting the Nazis...) is pretty cool, as is the science side. Some parts of POC tumblr are good. Star Wars tumblr is best, though.

Make no mistake though, the site has some real problems with Nazis, Stalinists, and some other really unpleasant folk.

 

I guess as it has been said before, Tumblr has many sides, some are very creepy and yes some sides and users should be banned, it's something many users have requested before.
But I tried it for the fandoms, and set for other interesting spaces (books, artists...) and people.
