Huh, I see he supports Keystone, which to me, is sad...it's hard to find many people in politics anymore where the environment is very much of a concern. Obama has also been very disappointing, in this regard...even with his Keystone opposition, he's given in on almost everything else, and big business runs the show.

I didn't really watch the debates, but he began to say different things in early campaign. Of course, he changed his speech to be more universal after he got caught, but the damage is still there. For me, though, the most important issue is that he is not a good representative of Jack Layton. I wanted to vote NDP, but he kept on getting farther and farther right.

I do feel sorry for the atlantic provinces, though (and the territories) because of how few voices they have. Though, that's what happens when you have so few people. However, the reform for the season jobs should help them.

For Quebec, I feel sad because no matter who we vote for, they never seem to represent us :/

Trudeau doesn't seem to be interested in the environment either... Sadly.

Haha... Don't worry Saskatchewan and Alberta will be complaining in a few months that they care only about Ontario and Quebec. And you guys will say they only care about Ontario. BC will say they only care about the GTA meanwhile Manitoba and the Atlantic provinces will complain but nobody will hear us. And Ontario will claim that the government is pandering to Quebec. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: (Or some variation of that)

And of course I just did what everyone does and totally omit the territories all together... :/

Elizabeth May/Greens would've been the actual best for Canada right now I think, but of course, the Greens are never going to get that far. :frowning2:

A lot of us keep saying we'd love to have the green party as majority but we never vote for them as we fear we'd waste a vote. If we actually started voting for the green party maybe they'd start getting noticed more.

I think we should demand Trudeau stay true to his promise and bring in an elective ballot. That way there would be need to strategic vote.

I doubt he'll do it since he has been handed a majority but we'll see.

I heard that after getting elected, he said it'd be the last election with this kind of system. That's good to hear, now he needs to follow up.

Now that he has majority he can do whatever he wants. Politicians lie, I doubt he'll keep half of his promises.

It's been hilarious watching my otherwise non-political stoner friends freak out (in a bad way) over the legalization of pot. "Goddamn, it'll become more expensive because we'll have to pay tax on it, could possibly make it illegal grow meaning it'll be harder for me to get, and probably turn the quality to crap!"

Rick Mercer pretty well foretold the NDP's fortunes in 2015:

I fear that many industries and businesses will start leaving Canada because of Trudeau's upcoming tax hikes. As someone who's been in business my entire life I hate to agree with Kevin O'Leary on this. As a small business owner myself I find it insulting that he sees small businesses as a way for the wealthy to avoid paying taxes.

I meant it as it's a shame that he's right on what's going to happen to our economy.

Of course, this is only a business-side point of view, what happens to an economy when more people (i.e. the middle class) gets to keep more of their money? More businesses sell, generally...

The rich can only spend so much, they do not have a significant effect on the overall economy when it comes to their spending.
