Yes, it is hard to believe, but it is supposed to be about the so-called 'benefits' of not masturbating.

Apparently, there exists a notion that if only people were to stop this evil masturbating, somehow, there would be some 'benefit'.

And yet not one peer reviewed scientific study to back up this claim.

That's definitely NOT true. The problem is that a lot of female bodied individuals just get the wrong messages about "how to do it".

I guess every one has their preferences. But putting a vibrator or massager against the "outer" lips and clitoris tends to work for most women statistically..

Oops, I think you misunderstood my misunderstanding. It just seemed as if you said this thread was supposed to be a support thread for those who wanted or needed to come out.

As for the benefits, I don't think there's any actual health benefits. It does save you from lying when someone asks, though.

    EDIT: oh

    From a biochemical standpoint I don't think that's true. Sorry :\

And, some people don't lose body fluids from masturbating.

    I think it releases dopamine.

    It also releases prolactin.

btw you have been hard on andy though he is a sweet heart :rolle:

THE HELL DO YOU BELIEVE :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:
i do it but you could say its really like from time to time sometimes i might stay for months without it
it just comes times i do it so i can stop thinking about guys if im horny most of the day i just want to tone down myself
but i read those stupid benefits and THEY ARE LYING i watch movies and shows and they have so many sex scenes especially gay and i never get turned on or distracted i get disgusted ! so dude tell those people to fuck off masurbating have nothing to do with any of the stuff they said infact a lot of people say it doesn't hurt you unless you do it like 9 times a day then you have a different problem  and maybe they are talking about jerking off on porn not masturbating in general cause yes porn really do all of those stuff and more to your mind its really bad for health
as masturbating is really normal not something to worry about if its done in the right way no porn
alone in private and not more than once a day or twice
you got nothing to worry about then ^^

I love how everyone is assuming that those who don't masturbate (or not as often) do it because they're all scared, and feel ashamed. No, when I'm depressed, I just can't, don't want to and that's it. Why would it have to be religious beliefs, or whatever?

    ikr?
and anyway religion does not forbid normal masturbation without porn or looking at someone nudes and stuff like that
infact if you do it you will find yourself less aroused to look at attractive people or get horny for some time so its just a tone down for the body

  10. I'm trying to stop masturbating because I feel as it's sinning towards God. However, I started this cluelessly in 7th grade and I'm going to the 12th grade next year, it takes a while to break a 5 year habit, especially when there are so many sexual things out there ><

For me, if I stop masturbating, I see it as a sacrifice to God and I'll get closer to Him. In addition to that, I'll stop watching/reading provocative stuff and I won't think about sex as much as I do, which will make me feel more like a good person.

That will be the benefits of not masturbating for me! If I can stop that is... I tell you what, watching The L Word sure doesn't help lol xD

This list is pretty over the top...seriously? Evidence?

I can understand if one simply chooses not to masturbate out of whatever personal reasons...but to claim there is any set of benefits to people in general is absurd.

Benefits? Pfft. Nothing I can say.

Let me see.. It feels good, it relieves a biological urge without needing to do something stupid, it's stress relief, and I can go as long as I want

Okay. Well. Touching my junk, considering it's not the junk I should've been born with, isn't 100% but I dunno. I'm not really as dysphoric about it anymore once I changed how I thought about it.

In a feeble act of self-defense, I just posted it because I hoped it would spark conversation, not because I actually believe in it. Haha. Looks like it worked. Sort of.

The only time I "don't masturbate" is when I'm tired... Other then that. I do it almost daily. I don't really see any "benefits" do not masturbating. The whole "NoFap" thing seems to be really over exaggerated. Maybe a placebo effect?

It's worth noting that I've seen evidence questioning the health of porn. But porn isn't necessary to masturbate, believe it or not. And it is possible to separate the effects of porn and those of masturbation itself.

None, as far as I know.

There may be some effects from abstaining, orgasms release a lot of hormones after all. Notably more testosteron for women and oxytocin and a few others for everyone. Oxytocin creates stronger emotional bonds and a stronger group feeling (which may be good, but also may be bad as you're more likely to treat others who're not in your group more badly) and another effect is that it makes falling asleep for guys easier. But if there is a big effect for not masturbation or if it's even positive isn't really sure.

There are no benefits of not masturbating. Sexual interaction is the single most central biological process after consuming sustenance and digestion. Masturbation is the safest form of sexual interaction. Sexual activity releases large amounts of hormones throughout the body; however, these hormones are released frequently throughout our normal lives (Eating, relaxing, etc). A healthy body would replenish them very soon after. On the subject of the benefits of not having sex, there might be a few more arguments to work from.

When practiced in moderation, psychiatric studies have found individuals who regularly practice sexual activity or masturbation to exhibit fewer periods of stress and depression. With that being said, there is nothing wrong with those who do not feel a personal desire to masturbate. Lack of sexual activity is only negative when an individual experiences strong sexual desires, but attempts to abstain.
