You can read up on the roles here. That post needs to be updated, and I'm sure it'll be updated relatively soon...

The declarations of interest were publicly available a few months back for a small while. They were then pulled from the public. In the future, they may or may not be used once more. As it stands right now, they're not available again yet. I hope that answered your question =)

One of those sub-forums had a declaration of interest thread thing. Mind you, it may be different if or when it is implemented once more...

 

I saw them a few months ago. I cannot recollect exactly when.

You probably didn't miss anything if you are interested in "someday" being on the staff. As I recall, in order to apply at that time, one needed longer history than I had. (I notice you have the same month of joining as I do.)

 

It'll be here in the Help and Feedback forum, probably. I'm sure it'll also be stickied at the top of the forums somewhere too. Don't worry, it'll be well-advertised

From what I understand, everyone kinda helps out everywhere where they feel they can. But in terms of primary duties:

- Advisors are responsible for answering threads in the support forums and helping people over PM
- Mods are responsible for enforcing the Code of Conduct and generally keeping the forums in line (I personally tried to make a point of having "forum presence", but I dunno how necessary that is)
- Admins... do other stuff? We handle some of the more sensitive issues because we're privy to more sensitive information/site tools. I think we're also responsible for keeping the goals and ideals of the site in line with what they should be and what the future plans might hold.

Well, congrats to those of you who have opted to take on the task of helping keep this place a great community. As someone who has helped mod and administrate similar though smaller sites, I can say it is a rewarding and challenging experience. Good luck with the new roles and enjoy those bold letters.
