Announcement: New Staff

We are pleased to announce a few changes to EC's staff team.

It is with regret that we also announce the departure of Ianthe from the Advisor team. We would like to thank her for all her hardwork and contributions during her time on the team, and we wish her the best of luck for the future.

Additionally, we would like to announce some exciting new changes to EC's administration team. As you will be aware, EC has consisted of an admin team who are responsible for handling full membership applications, username changes, security monitoring etc. However, we are pleased to announce the introduction of Admin Assistants, who will assist the Admin team in completing these stages to help boost productivity.

The responsibilities and roles of the admins have changed over the past year as we have started to move toward our new nonprofit structure, and the roles are expected to expand further as EC develops as a non-profit organisation and requires more formal policies in order to operate efficiently. After some discussion, the Board and admins have decided that the best course of action is to create a new role, called "Admin Assistants", who will take on much of the existing administrative responsibilities. Maddy and Owen's vast experience serving on the admin team makes them perfect for this new job, and you will find that the introduction of this usergroup will cause no disruption to you as a result of their pre-existing knowledge in completing these usergroup roles.

Most of our applicants submitted a Declaration of Interest a few months ago and were shortlisted by staff to join the team.

A couple were also chosen via staff nominations and joined the recruitment process that way.

If and when declarations re-open, they'll be announced on the forum.

 

I can't remember the exact opening and closing dates for declarations to be submitted, but it opened at the end of April and closed towards the end of May.

There was a global announcement with details on the process and a link to the declaration form to complete. It's likely the same thing will happen again next time.
