A trans guy (before he came out). He originally said he was a little bicurious (and he is a Kinsey 2, so I guess that counts even though he wasn't out as trans). He then later came out at a trans man. So, I knew him as a girl when I first met him but then learned to start using his new name and pronouns. The only LGBT person I knew to be at least partially open about it in middle school.
My friend from grade school. She's a REALLY butch lesbian. Before she started getting really butch, (this was before I knew she was a lesbian) I had a sortof weird crush on her.
Same, except mine was an uncle. When I finally figured out he was gay, I was like "I'm not the only one in our family!"
Someone I met in 2010 turned out to be gay, though I didn't know until 2015. The first people I personally knew were gay or not straight were girls I ate lunch with in highschool. They sometimes talked about being in short relationships with other girls. This was before I ever thought I was bi.
I love how young everyone was when they met their first LGBT person. Shows how far we've come. I met my first when I went away to college.
It was either my friend Jaden, or my friend Scott. I knew right off the bat when I started talking to Scott that he was gay, but I knew Jaden long before he came out. I met Scott shortly after Jaden came out, so I guess it's probably Jaden. I'm sure there are plenty of LGBT people I've known forever and just don't know they're LGBT. These 2 have been my main support anyway, super glad I know them
That would be my best friend now, who's non-binary and not straight (can't remember what their sexuality is). We've known each other since we were 11, but became best friends last year. They're really amazing, they've supported me so much with the gender shit, even with the shit they have to deal with.
When I was like 10, I met a bisexual girl who was 13 at the time, and she pretty much opened my eyes regarding everything lgbtqa+, so shoutout to her, haha..
