Meh, I'd rather stay. But I suppose I'd help anyone who wanted to leave.

Of course you would. It wouldn't surprise me if you turned the island into a utopia of sorts, or attempted it.

Alone, I would try and formulate a plan, and see what the best option is. But with others, I would try to bring back help -- as well as some battery-powered fans. I'm not trying to get my sweat on! LOL.

None would be necessary. I would revert 2 a feral state and become one with the island

Better to bring a solar powered generator. And the fans, I guess. But the fans are no good without replacement batteries.

I played sims castaway a few years ago. You basically get stranded on an island after a shipwreck. It was fun.

I assume if I came back with battery-powered fans, that I survived, and would have access to replacement batteries. But sure, I'll bring back a solar-powered generator.

Maybe you had to steal the fans, and couldn't go back without being arrested.

I would choose a large knife, hardest thing to make there also it'll help me fend off others, hunt, build and also protect myself.

Probably the knife. I have pretty terrible night vision, and I get cold easily. However, I think I'd be more worried about defending myself.

  12. Matches, because it's important to create a signal fire to let rescuers know where you are. Having all the food in the world wouldn't do much since rescuers have no idea where you are.

Large Knife- It could be used to signal if it's made of stainless steel, but I would have to oscillate it to make it a good signal.

Torch- How do I light it on fire?

Med-Kit- Nature is our med-kit  I've got sticks as splints, leaves as bandages, and sea water can work as an antiseptic.

Sauce-Pan- I'd probably have no use for it. Plants can be eaten raw. I wouldn't mind going vegetarian if I had no choice.

Box of food- It's nice, but how will rescuers know where I am?

Snorkels- I could probably use that to catch fish to barbecue with, but I wouldn't have something to light a fire.

Blanket- Again, how do I get rescued?

    Knife.
It's probably the most versatile item.
But what about water? How would any of these items help me get water?
(The saucepan might be able to scoop up water, but it doesn't make sea water fresh.)

I think the OP meant "electric torch" as in flashlight to Yanks at least. XD

The knife would probably be used in making your fire starting method (firebow is what I'd try first) and once you have that, some sort of natural or carved vessel could help you boil seawater so you could re-condense the vapor into fresh water.

I've watched and read my fair share of survival stuff, so tidbits here and there have started to stick with me hehe.

I'll go with the knife, as it will be a universal tool that will last longer than the rest which would only last so long.

    2. Torch - Assuming the plane has salvageable parts, there are other ways to make and sustain a makeshift fire (refer to Mythbusters). If you mean torch as in flashlight, not needed since I don't intend on moving or doing much at night.

    3. Med kid - Would be nice to have, but I'm sure I could MacGyver a thing; especially if I have my fiance with me who has been known to make splints out of random stuff.

    4. Saucepan - Salvage material from the plane, set.

    5. Matches - See 2.

    6. 72 Hour Food Stock - Living off the land shouldn't be hard. Food might be the more tricky since I don't know much about what's not toxic to eat, but let's hope common sense kicks in. Water shouldn't be too hard, especially if I can find a natural water source and have the proper resources to boil and filter water.

    7. Scuba set - Nah.

    8. Blanket - Would be nice, but a simple shelter could be fortified with what the land provides.

I would have chosen the knife, since it would last the longest and prove to be the most util. If that couldn't happen, then the med kit.

You could desalinate sewater in the saucepan:
    1) Put seawater in saucepan
    2) Place a wooden bowl/cup/object in saucepan, put a leaf on top and a small rock on it so that the condensed, purified water droplets will drop in the wooden bowl.
Granted, a saucepan isn't required as you could do this with two carved wooden bowls, but you could boil the water in a saucepan to speed up the process. I'm not sure but I think you need to heat-treat wood somehow to prevent it from, you know, burning and I doubt that is easy on an uninhabited island.

A knife every day of the week, was not surprised to see it as the most popular option.
An edged tool is needed to complete so many tasks in a survival situation.
