So many times in the Kingdom Hearts series! Also in the prologue of The Last of Us.

...Ok, this is a little embarrassing but the only time a game has ever made me cry (and I was bawling like a baby) was in Super Mario Galaxy, once you get all the chapters in Rosalina's storybook. It's so simple and that's probably why it gets to me the most, it really does speak to the child I didn't know was still hiding somewhere in me. Also, it's pretty clearly inspired by Le Petit Prince which always made me cry as a kid so this feels like it was tailor-made to hit me straight in the feels.

Here's the story in case anyone is curious and can spare 15 min. It's a shortie but it's a good one.

Also, not exactly a game (more like an independent short actually since the game turned out to be nothing like it) but up until a year ago the reveal trailer for Dead Island always made me cry (this time, it was the father in me bawling). The Memento-style editing also helped a lot to drive the emotional gut-punch:

Don't cry in video games cause I've never been attached to characters.

I can't say I literally shed tears during games.... But there were times I came close.

    Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
    Persona 4
    Corpse Party

These all had 1 or 2 moments where I felt like I might start start to cry, lol.

Also, 'Don't take it personally, babe, it just ain't your story' got to me.

I never cried during video games. Like someone mentioned here before, I was never really attached to any of the characters to begin with.

A PC indie horror game called "You won't tell anyone, right?" made me cry I think.

Not "My favorite character died and I'm sad" tears but "I'm scared to death and am not even going to post the let's play I filmed because I sounded like a mess" tears.

Seriously, this game... It's, how is it not more popular?!

Oh, also... spoiler. Watch it though, it's very heartwarming... I mean, to me, ugh, maybe you won't get how friggin awesome it is, if you haven't played the game.

To the Moon and The walking dead season 1. Walking dead season 2 came kinda close to making me tear up.

I cried at the end of Final Fantasy X, and at the end of the phantom train scene in Final Fantasy VI. (Which was pretty embarrassing because I was playing it on my DS in the mall.)

Like another poster said, I get really emotional at the end of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. I mean I've played it before and I know what's going to happen but it still gets to me every time.

To the Moon and Beyond: Two souls.

I would've cried at the ending of Mass Effect 3, but it was just so blunt and shocking that I just sat there and stared at the credits.
Then I went on the net and raged with other people, until I decided to forget about it. That game really bothered me for weeks. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
I preordered it, so by the time the extended ending was released I had already thrown the game away, though I doubt it would make a big difference if I had played it..

Spoiler alert, but oh man I did during the last scene with Thane in Mass Effect 3! And I was pretty close when Dom had to kill his wife in Gears of War 2
