It's not really an lgbt-themed song, but "read all about it" by emeli sande really motivates me to come out.

A lot of what I know or like was already posted, but let me just say I'm obsessed with Against me!.

That said, songs for them homosexuals here! :icon_wink

First, two really beautiful ones, along with equally compelling videos

First time he kissed a boy
    by Kadie Elder

The Love You Have In You by Asbjorn

A more campy one that I think wasn't here yet:

Cheyenne Jackson - Don't Wanna Know

And this artist sings a lot about being gay, but it's not what you want to show your mum when trying to explain that them gays are not freaks:lol: Seriously though, his weirdness helped me a lot to accept some things in the past.

    Hood by Perfume Genius

Patrick Wolf - Bermondsey Street Not his best song, but the most explictly lgbt I can think of. I mean, it opens with "she kisses her". But, just look at his more popular songs. He the gayest that ever gayed, maybe.

Not lbgt themed itself, but features a transgender (mtf) singer, so I guess it kinda counts!

Steam Powered Giraffe - Hold Me
Steam Powered Giraffe - Hold Me

    Enjel Guest

    Human Nature by Michael Jackson

This song addresses males and females; however, I find it great how a line in this song refers to a male sung by a male.

    Really great song!

    Check it out!

I like to think that "Your Song" by Elton John is since it says 'boy' in it (thought it could be exclamatory).

    The Greatest by Sia-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKSRyLdjsPA
Sia herself is bisexual and her music is pretty good.

Don't know if it's already been said, but Christine and the Queens, a French singer, makes some pretty good and poetic songs around LGBT and gender identity, such as iT or Half Ladies (this one's in French)

Except that, the only LGBT songs I know are from Queen (Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy (!))

You have to listen to the Rhiannon + Dreams cover on YouTube. Totally lesbian.

Ingrid Michaelson's The Way I Am and her cover of Parachute. I think she has a very pro-LGBT feel in general.

also, St. Vincent is pretty good. she's pansexual. Listen to "Chloe in the Afternoon".

Against Me!'s Transgender Dysphoria Blues album is super fucking cool.

Transgender Dysphoria Blues, True Trans Soul Rebel, and FUCKMYLIFE666, are the ones that are ones that I know of that are openly trans anthems.

"let's relate" by of Montreal is a wonderful song that talks about gender identity in a way you don't often hear in popular music!

    Well there's "LGBT" by Cupcakke
    If you mean songs written by LGBT people, look for;
Willam Belli's "Shartistry in Motion" album,
Adore Delano's "Till Death Do Us Party, and "After Party" albums
(a LOT of drag queens from Rupaul's Drag Race have albums including Rupaul herself.)
Lady Gaga has a TON of gay/lesbian themed songs such as "Sexxx Dreams", or the obvious "Born This Way".
Also Demi Lovato's "I Really Don't Care" is a gay anthem.

    Hope this helps!

Part of Me by Katy Perry?

Not really gay-themed, but could possibly be interpreted that way.

Well definitely "I Kissed a Girl" by Katy Perry.

I think some of her other songs, while not specifically gay-themed, could be considered gay anthems or alluding to the gay community. These would include "Firework", "Part of Me", "Roar", "Rise", and "Peacock".

Also, do music videos count? Because even though Selena Gomez's new song "Bad Liar" can pertain to any sexual orientation, her character in the video is a gay woman.
