AAAAA, he is adorable! And the picture of him yawning is even more adorable!
Ufff, they need to make Tyrus canon already. I don't watch it regularly, but I've been keeping up to date with everything and TJ and Cyrus need to become a thing.

My application to grad school is in and I've secured my letters of recommendation from my boss (second mom, practically) and my creative writing professor. Now, just have to get everything in and wait.

And...figure out how to pay for grad school...and if that is actually right for me over getting a job right away.

I’m working on job applications as my graduation is in April. In the meantime I have a full load of courses, one of which is a senior seminar with a huge research project/paper. I’m not sure if I’ll get out of this semester with my sanity intact or not.

I'm student teaching so I'm slowly taking over a classroom full of 7th graders. By this time next month I'll be doing pretty much every single thing with them if not earlier. I'm doubtful I'll get out of this semester with my sanity intact!

We'll be sure and visit you at the asylum. We'll smuggle in a tablet (with EC bookmarked) baked into a cake. LOL

I suppose it can be argued that if someone survives teaching 7th graders, one can survive any teaching assignment. It's been a long time (10 years or so), but I remember talking to a former middle school teacher. He liked some things about teaching that age group...but also said it was challenging.

Good luck with the application. I'm sure things will fall into place.

If you change your mind about starting grad school once you're accepted, you could try deferring your start.

Pretty much everyone tells me that if I can survive 7th grade, I'll be plenty fine with high schoolers. I was hoping to get high schoolers for at least half of my student teaching, but got to work with what I've been given! The content is honestly really easy to teach, it's mostly their drama and immaturity that's getting to me.
Thanks Mirko! I'm applying for Fall semester so at the very least I can job search over the summer. If I end up really liking student teaching then I'll most likely go hardcore into job hunting but if all else fails, I'll have grad school. OR, if I realize that teaching just isn't for me...then grad school!

The decision might be a lot more clear after dealing full time with those seventh graders. LOL

Seriously...I took a college level German class many years ago. (I'm old enough that this was shortly after the language had been invented. LOL) And one day the professor was absent, and he had some guy substitute. We chatted briefly after class (I can't even remember why, now), and the guy told me that he was currently student teaching at a local high school. And the experience had been such that he was seriously thinking of forgetting his high school teaching plans, and going to graduate school, instead.

I've mentioned this before... But I've honestly felt a little bit sorry for the PE/health teachers at my junior high, given that they had to teach 7th grade sex ed. I can just about imagine how much they dreaded that unit every year.

Time to take a break from homework. I’ve read the same paragraph 6 times and I still don’t know what it says.

Don't know how many times I have seen the movie Kelly's Heroes, but it never gets boring.

Nothing quite says "It's Sunday" like the impending dread of knowing I have to be at work in twelve hours. :confounded: My job genuinely makes me hate my life.

The kitchen looks really nice. I like the espresso colour on the cabinets.

I envy one thing about Smurf's kitchen: he has a stove!

Hard to believe...it's been about 5 years since my kitchen had a working stove.

How come you haven't gotten a new one, or one that is working properly?

I'm in a rock bottom rental. The owner really doesn't want to put money into the place. I could, perhaps, demand a stove...but that might cause problems (increased rent, or the place simply being shut down).

I have considered getting a stove of my own...but I really don't have the spare cash for even an old, used stove, and getting it transported here is a problem.
