I am So. Freaking. Tired. Of hearing about "Stranger Things". Season Two was released, apparently, and now I'm being inundated with news and other crap about it. I get it. Some people think it's the best thing since the invention of the internet. Now can I stop hearing about it for ten seconds? I'm not watching it. I am never watching it. The overhyping of this show has killed it for me.
I should have known better than to engage in anything even close to social media. I need to take a break from people for a while.
We will never stop!!! Jk, I only bring it up to people because it's a point of small talk while people are in line and only if they're buying Season 1. I hate when people overhype things because, as you pointed out, it really kills whatever aura the show has.
My problem with it is that I follow a number of nerd culture kind of pages on social media and this is has been damn near ALL they've posted about for two weeks. I don't mind a reference to it here and there, but I swear, it feels like I'm being beat over the head with it at this point.
One of my friends was putting stickers on her laptop, and I said to bug her, that it isn't straight. She comes back with, "You're not straight!" And I'm just thinking, you're right, I'm not.
I mean, it is well done. I do hate how everyone suddenly thinks they're a nerd now because of it though. Just makes me replay this in my mind constantly:
I passed six accidents today. SIX. Five minutes of freezing rain and it's like everyone lost their damn minds.
What's the song called? I found a song yesterday that I've been searching for the past 7 years. It wasn't as great as I originally thought but it still pretty good.
I can't believe they cancelled house of cards because of Kevin Spacys alleged sexual harassment 32 years ago. Oh and the way the media treated him after he came out is a fucking joke.
Anthony Radd made the whole thing up. There's no reason why he would have waited this long. Also Spacey doesn't even remember it. They have no evidence and there cancelling a really great show due to what political correctness? This shit is getting stupid. Like I seriously wish I could take my closest friends and family with me and run off to our own universe. One of my only rules would be no stupidity aloud.
I'm so glad that I bought a large comforter. My room is really cold right now, and I about froze last night.
Man, whether it's well-done or not; it could be the next Citizen Kane and I still wouldn't want to see it if it was THIS overhyped. You mean no reasons... apart from the stigma attached to men who admit to being sexually abused (especially by another man) because they'll be seen as "unmanly", or precisely because of the reactions of people like you who claim they're faking it. Other than those two reasons, no, there's no reason at all to stay closeted about it for so long.
