    Got a call from an irs scammer, he had me in tears. I actually hung up on him, I was so upset and so scared.

    It's a pity you can't send him to me. I'd make a fool out of that guy. I hate scammers. This reminds me to read up on more scams, to keep ahead of the game.

    To add to this...

    When a scammer calls, and you want to be sure if it's authentic or not, tell them the following:

    "I'm sorry, I'm deaf."

    If they're a real agent, they'll pause for a moment and want to clarify, possibly even offering to do something to compensate your hearing loss. If they're not a real agent, they'll pause for a moment and resume their scam, maybe with a different approach, but the intent will be the same.

    Apologize if it is a real agent, and tell them you just wanted to be sure they were authentic. They'll understand, because...

    See, the I.R.S. is the biggest, baddest, most legal gang in the world. They're going to get their money, and if that means working around your "being deaf", they will. A scammer is more concerned with you falling for their trick first, then the money; the real I.R.S. is more concerned with getting their money first, and hate competition ("scammers").

    I never even thought about saying I'm deaf, I was just so frustrated and scared. Once I realized it was probably not true I hung up on the guy. Though I cried and cried about it I was so scared, that said I was going to be arrest and that panicked me like no other.
