Just wanted to let everybody know that after much soul searching, I am no longer genderqueer. That was a lie. I now identify as a tofu stir fry. I hope that you can all forgive what I posted while I was questioning. I was going to identify as a chicken stir fry, since that's how I feel deep down inside, but I'm very committed to social justice, and I know that eating meat can be triggering for some people. In an attempt to balance the need for solidarity with others and my need to authenticity, I will identify as a tofu stir fry instead.
What if people ask "Can I eat you?" Wouldn't that be really awkward? And now for a completely legit picture of Pret Allez. It's a gigantic photo because we're talking to a giant plate of tofu and vegetables. Spoiler
If yum feels like chicken stir fry, then mmm should identify as chicken stir fry. Pretty much anything can be considered a trigger nowadays. Yum shouldn't have to censor mmmself that much. I'll... try to respect yum's identity.
Yes, I agree that yum identity should be based on yumself, yum own sense of self, and not based on the sensibilities of others. I mean, how many people stay in the closet for exactly that reason...doing their best to hang onto an identity that doesn't *really* fit them for social expediency and the sake of making others comfortable. Pret...yum commitment to social justice is impressive...but yum identity is not a trifling matter...and moreover, isn't something yum *choose*...it *is* what yum feel deep down. So enough of the politically correct BS...mmm've already told us yum true identity...now chicken stir-fry up and own it! ---------- Post added 5th May 2014 at 12:49 AM ---------- Mmm.
Trifling? Okay, that one got me xD I tried to be heterosexual, and I'm really bisexual. I know it's not quite the same. I never knew tofu could have souls. I mean, I figured the chicken might. Totally gonna trigger people now. Chicken is one of my fave meats. It's great with some salt, mashed potatoes, and peas. This thread makes me want to roast chicken. Omnivore privilege. My diet isn't subject to ridicule as often as the diets of vegetarians.
I always thought it was offensive to ask tofus things like that. Mmm's looking for another tofu stir fry, not someone to eat yum.
Feel free to be a chicken stir fry if that's what yum is. ^Isn't 'yum' as a pronoun suggesting that tofu stir fries can be eaten?
Are you suggesting cannibalism? Mmm may not be human, but yum is vegetarian. I also propose new conjugation: I am You are He/she/it is Mmm/Yum ??? Pret Allez, is the tofu stir fry singular, or are you actually multiple stir fries, making the conjugation plural? In other words, do you prefer "are" or "is?"
