One time in gym, this kid screwed up in Ultimate Frisbee and another kid said, "Ugh, that gay homosexual fag!"

That's an interesting one. I wonder if, once having experienced different strokes in prison, a person continues to do that when they're outside the prison. There was the movie "The Shawshank Redemption" and I wonder if the 'I could be your friend' guy was really gay or he was the resident tough guy. Well, we could assume that prisons are full of horny guys, at the very least.

I'm lucky in that the worst I've dealt with personally is the classic, "Maybe you just haven't met the right guy. You never know!"

I agree with LinkLarkin.

Personally, I find arguments that insist that being queer isn't a choice to carry a lot of implicit homophobia. If we insist that no one would ever choose to be queer, then what does that suggest? That being queer is somehow worse than being cishet? Yeah, I really hate this style of argument for queer rights.

 

The worst one I've heard so far is "why don't you go be dykes somewhere else?" I was rather pissed off.

Oh, yeah, here's a good one I forgot. I knew a guy in college who got married during senior year to his high school sweetheart. I have no clue how the discussion moved over to gays, but his wife was talking and said "Oh, you know, fags are lazy." I thought about how dim witted both he and his wife were, in general, and what a stupid comment that was. Since gay men tended not to have as much tying them down, they tend to do well where they have to devote themselves to work, or in creative and entrepreneurial efforts, and many have higher levels of disposable income.

 

75% of gays were born that way the other 25% were sucked into it.

As if were recruiters of some sort.

 

That's just the worst so far, I know there's worse.

My dad says homophobic comments all the time so I doubt I will ever be able to come out to him... but the worst thing he said was "All faggots are disgusting and should be shot, they make me sick, I would kill you if you turned out to be gay... they are worst then murders" :help:...

The worst thing is I have to ignore it... if only he knew...

The most frustrating is friends who insist that I sleep in a different room at slumber parties. "Just in case."

 

I actually found it funny... but I like sarcastic and dark humor, and I use humor to deal with all kinds of dark times in life even death, so I'm biased.
