"I'm a creep. I'm a weirdo. What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here..." Creep, Radiohead "I'm gonna buy a gun and start a war, if you can tell me something worth fighting for." Rush of Blood to the Head, Coldplay "And in my best behavior, I am really just like him. Look underneath the floorboards, for the secrets I have hid." John Wayne Gacy Jr, Sufjan Stevens "Save me from the cold, charred sea." "And soft was there a stutter, that steals the heart away from the pain. Leaves the lasting sorrow and carries me under..." A Stutter, Olafur Arnalds "So far from who I was, from who I love, from who I want to be." So Far, Olafur Arnalds "The sun goes round. The ship sinks down. Oh down down down... The bird can't fly. He's bound to die. In time time time..." Check Engine, Ryan Cassata
I love that Killers song! One of my favorites would have to be: Silversun Pickups - Catch and Release "Follow me, down the strings of sweat on your body." And, The National - Slipped "I'm having trouble inside of my skin. I'm trying to keep my skeletons in."
Katie Melua, Spiderweb "The piano keys are black and white, but they sound like a million colours in your mind" I like the lyrics of that song
Generally the lyrics of Make it stop by Rise Against. "Born free, but still they hate. Born me, no I can't change." "And too much blood has flown from the wrists, Of the children shamed for those they chose to kiss." Lyrics
"She might have let you hold her hand in school but imma show you how to graduate" - Ariana Grande in Bang Bang "so what so i got a smile on but it's hiding the quiet superstitions in my head..." John Mayer - Why Georgia "sometimes i just want somebody to hold, someone to give me their jacket when it's cold....: Tori Kelly - Dear No One "I turned off all the lights and took ya to the darkside: JoJo - Reckless "This S*&T is Bananas! B-A-N-A-N-A-S" - Gwen Stefani
When I see this question, the only line that I think of is: "Then the time for being sad is over And you miss 'em like you miss no other And being blue is better than being over it (over it) No one wants you when you have no heart and I'm sitting pretty in my brand new scars and You'll never know if you don't ever try again So let's try, let's try, let's try." Panic! At the Disco- "Hallelujah" (addendum: Aware this isn't so much a line as it is a stanza of a lyric sheet but it's what I sang in my head when I saw the Q.)
Missing You by All Time Low: "Grit your teeth pull your hair Paint the walls black and scream 'F*ck the world cuz it's my life I'm gonna take it back' And never for a second blame yourself."
There are quite a few poetic lyricists that can create truly captivating lines, such as Bob Dylan, Morrissey, Leonard Cohen, Bernie Taupin, Boy George, David Bowie, Lou Reed, Paul McCartney, Peter Murphy, and many more. One that truly stands out to me, though, would probably have to be...ugh! This is so hard! While there are probably many others that can equal or possibly surpass its appeal to me, off the top of my head I'm thinking of a Morrissey lyric from the Smiths' song "What Difference Does It Make": "The devil will find work for idle hands to do I stole and I lied, and why? because you asked me to But now you make me feel so ashamed Because I've only got two hands Well, I'm still fond of you"
hmm, lets go with: "It's my life it's my fate It doesn't matter what you say Cuz it never was your place It's never gonna change it is the same and I'ma stay this way!" more than 1 line, but whatever ---------- Post added 15th Feb 2017 at 09:11 PM ---------- oh and the song is called Stay This Way by From Ashes to New
