I’m gay, but some would say heterosexually challenged. I’m a dude who’s into dudes. And I’m quite good with that.
It's interesting how differently people think about things these days. I don't really think of myself as "identifying" as gay, I just am gay.
I agree with that view, but added the word "identifying" more for the use of labelling as lesbian/gay/bi etc. because some people may not see themselves as a specific label and rather just a guy who's attracted to guys. For me, I personally hate the label "lesbian" because in my opinion it doesn't sound great and I find the use of labels pointless (saying "I'm a lesbian" also sounds absolutely terrible because I'd much prefer "I'm attracted to girls"- it's much less "other" sounding if that makes sense lol). Society does tend to have a fear of offending everyone these days though, and I guess I've hopped on the bandwagon now!! I just feel like the labels in general were created by homophobic straight people in an attempt to organize people in terms of those who are different, which bothers me because it would be much more uniting to have people who simply like women, or like men, or both/all genders. Anyway!!! I hope all this makes sense. Perhaps one day I'll be okay with the labelling system but for now we're not on the best of terms XD
I voted for bi, but my sexuality is hella complicated. Technically, I am bisexual in that I am attracted to men and women, but I also use lesbian/gay/queer as well. Because just because I find men attractive doesn't mean I want a relationship with one. So I answer to any of these labels because they are more or less all correct in some capacity.
I think I can relate actually, because I used to identify as bi but then realized just because I may sometimes be attracted to guys I would never be interested in a relationship with one lol
I use the words gay and lesbian interchangeably when describing myself, I don't really have much of a preference in terms of which one I prefer. When in conversation, instead of saying I identify as usually I say that I'm gay or I'm a lesbian. However, when it comes to flags I prefer the rainbow one over the lesbian flag. (This is the lesbian flag I'm referring to, pictured above ^).
