It was great. Everyone was really nice. This is a 55+ group that meets every Wednesday morning. I’m planning to go back this Wednesday.
I'm jealous lol. I really wanna go to one of these groups. There's loads of different ones in my city. I'm scared I'll bump into this one gay guy that I know from years ago when I used to go clubbing. He knows alot of people I know
I’ve been going every week that I’m not sick. It’s great. There are other social opportunities that people talk about. I had a root canal the next day after the meeting last week so I was out of it for a couple days. But there were places I could have gone if I’d been feeling better.
Talk about whatever people feel like talking about. Bring up other social activities like plays, parties, and talk about them. Since I’m pretty new, I’ve heard coming out stories. Health issues come up since we are an older crowd. Talk about news, etc. I’m a diabetic so I bring a protein shake with Splenda instead of having coffee. And I never eat the pastries people sometimes bring. Right now I’m at the beginning of my diabetic journey and have started eating better and exercising. As I lose weight and get in better shape, I may be able to have a pastry but probably a very small portion. I actually feel much better without the sugar rush. We also talk about religion. I’m going to make a post about that. And Pride which is on June 22. 30,000 people are expected.
