I love Biden now. He just said same sex couples deserve the same rights as heterosexual couples. And now Palin is stumbling around lol.. And she's not really agreeing.
...But neither one of them support gay marriage. At least Biden supports civil unions with equal rights to marriage.
ROFL!!! Everyone started laughing when Foreign policies were introduced. Anyway.. xP Anyone else watching it?
LALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALA *covers eyes and ears* im tivo-ing it
Wow.. Sarah Palin seems to have her head on a little better today, but still she isn't going that well. How many times did she talk about energy? lol Amazing that she hasn't gone on about Russia for an hour and a half though..
When Palin went on her "I don't support the redefinition of marriage" rant, my mom flipped out and went on her own rant on how gay marriage should be legal. Mom is awesome
I wish my mum was like that! But the way Palin answered that question was as if she didn't want gays to have the same rights.
The McCain/Palin campaign should just stop with their "Straight Talk" or "Maverick" slogans. I lose respect for them every time I hear it, because they simply aren't true anymore.
It's really appalling that neither candidate supports gay marriage, and then the whole crowd just laughed it off awkwardly after they changed the subject. I personally don't think that they should spend less than 5 minutes on that one topic, but 10-15 minutes on all the others. Shouldn't we spend more time on the more controversial issues? Energy: USE ALTERNATIVE ENERGY IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE DEPENDENT ON FOREIGN OIL. Support research for alternative energy, stop focusing on drilling within our borders, and try to work towards being OIL independent, as opposed to foreign oil independent. I know it can't happen overnight, but we need to look to the future when there will be no more oil. Will we be prepared? Foreign Policy and the war in Iraq...let's not go there lol.
Ugh PenAndInk I can't agree with you more. Also it's quite annoying how they were harping on about the fact that Pakistan and Iran are in posession of Nuclear weapons.. So wait, THEY can have Nuclear weapons and the middle east can't? The US is just leeching off the mid east.
Wow. That was an epic job of avoiding the question by Palin. And I take offense at her comment about being from the "Heartland". We don't want her here.
Inthecloset: In regards to Pakistan and Iraq, I like that Obama/Biden is willing to talk with the leaders of these Middle Eastern countries. How do you feel about it? I don't agree with the non-negotiation approach that the US has been using. I think we're more likely to get some cooperation if we start recognizing the influence and power (unfortunately) that these countries are capable of. It's not like we can just shrug them off as a nuisance, especially since their nuclear capabilities are very real.
Oh yes.. I like the fact that they want to talk. I just don't like the fact that the US is so thingy about them having nuclear weapons when they (the US) have the largest amount in the world.
Ugh she's going on about the heartland now.. xP [is behind by a bit because I paused the TV to go and put up washing] Wow... She talks about the US standing for equal rights yet she doesn't believe in a wide variety of gay rights?
Well that was fun. I thought Joe did a good job yet I'm disappointed that they both said they don't want gay marriage.
I think that we wouldn't have to worry about their nuclear capabilities as much if we had established relations of SOME sort with them. However, I can see the fear that these Middle Eastern countries would seem more inclined to use their nuclear capabilities (supposing they are weaponry and not energy sources) for negative things, especially if the country has an unstable government.
