Okay, Nirvana is grunge (which is a subgenre of Rock), I won't talk about U2 since I don't like them, and I'm pretty sure Blur would be rock too.

But Muse is what I wanna talk about the most.

I would like to know what you would consider Muse. They are most definitely not Pop. Muse is definitely one the great rock bands that is rather new and still exists.

    >>>Honestly, the only rock I love is older than me or theyre local groups in my area.

Even better. The local bands deserve the love (and cash) even more than the (inter)national ones. I love a lot of local music, too (rock and otherwise). It's surprising, since you wouldn't think Denver is exactly crawling with good local music...

Good song to get the party started! Irish are always good they seem to get it started and get everyone up! Reminds me of rugby players for some reason. lol

nirvana grunge which aint really a sub genre of anything if youd asked them back in the day they were breaking away from everything it was sort of screw you man attitudes lol

u2 bono is a douche simple

blur is hard as alot of it is pop but theres some rock some punk and indie its like alternative before its time i think its why theyve been so popular i love blur great sounds im thinking allternative rock

muse is weird lol i like them but they arent rock they are very indie to me but saddly indie is getting dragged backwards into pop music i just hope they can kepp sounding different.

they dont have the solos the feel of rock but the do have the catchy repetiveness of pop and the quirkyness of indieness.

im saying alternative indie for muse as its got other influences

Saxon, one of the top bands in the late 70's and early 80's who never really achieved the success of other NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest etc etc came back with a killer album recently in the form of The Inner Sanctum. It's as good as anything they have ever done.
