I've had a few that said "okay"

A couple that were like "OMG FINALLY! I'M GOING TO GIVE YOU A MASSIVE HUG WHEN I SEE YOU" (those were my favourites :3)

"Oh, I thought so, I just wasn't certain. J told me he thought you were" (That was my coworker. Apparently they all thought I was in my department by nobody asked until the Sunday just gone)

"Oh, you're not out? I thought you were openly gay anyway" - that one was a bit embarrassing, I don't consider myself to be overtly effeminate or camp, but he confirmed it was more from things I had said than my mannerisms haha

 

Me: I am Gay

She: Are you mad? There is nothing like gay. everyone is straight. you need counselling

 

*shocked face* "What really? I had no idea."-brother
"okay"- sister
"I love and accept you no matter what."-mom
"I'm proud of you for telling me."-dad
"Ohhh that explains a lot."-so many people
"I don't believe you. You will never convince me."-acquaintance and she still doesn't believe me, nor think it is possible
"cool! Am I really the first person you told?"-best friend
"oh"-guy that crushed on me
"Now I see all those hints. Oh."-girl at my lunch table
"I have a ton of gay friends I can introduce you to."-best guy friend

Personal partner or business partner? (I Answer). Him: Cool. (He Continues on with normal conversation)

I kinda already knew.

 

from my best friend from high school: "Damn! I wish I knew that a long time ago. I recall being at your place, listening to records, and wanting to jump your bones! lol"

One of my not-so-much-friends (we're not friends)- Okay, well I just wanted you to know that I don't exactly disapprove of your relationship (bullshit yes you do), but just know that God made that perfect girl out there for you somewhere so just know that.

I would hope so, for her sake. Otherwise she's gonna have to wait alone for a really long time. (!)

I'm not gay, but I wanted to chime in.

I think my favorite response came from a cousin, the first person I directly came out to:

We'd been talking and... blah, blah, blah... and I come out. She's quiet for a moment, and...

Her: I thought you'd become a monk. You like sex?
Me: Yeah. Obviously.
Her:... I don't care that you're bi, but... totally wrong on the monk-thing, huh?

 

Best one I heard by far from a close friend: "You're still you, and who you are is awesome."

Everyone should be told that, and everyone who comes out needs to know that!
