a thread to state random facts you care about even though they're useless I'll begin : Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was the first and only NBA player to win an MVP title despite his team not making the playoffs. It was in 1976. Dr. Mashirito in Dr.Slump is drawn with the same face as Toriyama's editor: Torishima.
That’s an amazing idea ! I know several useless facts but here’s one of my favorite : The operation Fortitude is a disinformation operation who took place during the WW2. The goal was to divert the Axis and make them believe the landing would happen either in Norway or either in Nord-Pas-de-Calais (instead of Normandy). For this, the allied nation use phantom army and a lot of double agent. And this is where Juan Pujol García came in the story. He’s a Spanish spy who worked for Britain against Nazi Germany. He created a bunch of fake sub-agent to blame for fake information and mistake. He managed to be considered as a trustworthy spy and the success of the operation Fortitude depends a lot of his action. But the most important thing to know is this guy got military decorations from the both sides (the Iron Cross and he was a member of the Order of the British Empire). I didn’t tell the whole story but is you’re interested, go check out his life, it’s really incredible.
Nice ! Thanks Yeah I remember this one, dude was sabotaging the Na*is like crazy and still got decorated
Here's one from a Film Scholar: Did you know that the movie that eventually became High School Musical was originally conceived and developed to be Grease 3? They changed everything about it later on and made it into the juggernaut of DCOMs as they went on.
Sunsets are blue on mars. There are trees that can grow multiple kinds of fruit, called “fruit salad trees”. Owls don’t have eyeballs but rather something like eye tubes.
damn those are nice in France, for more than a decade, the cities of Lyon and Grenoble have been fighting over the invention of the "French Tacos". Which, despite its name, is more akin to a burrito filled with meat, french fries and cheese sauce.
When mummifying corpses, the ancient Egyptians would take the internal organs from the body, leaving only the heart. The heart had to stay in the body so that when the deceased person is taken to the afterlife, a judge can weigh their heart. If it is lighter than a feather, the person will go to paradise. All other organs (liver, lungs and 2 others) were taken out and put in special boxes. Apart from the brain which was considered useless and thrown away. The ancient Egyptians had a god for each of the four internal organs that were put in boxes. Their names were Imsety, Hapy, Duamutef and Kebehsenuf. (I read about this when I was 8 and idk why I still remember it xD)
Goldfish have teeth at the back of their mouths. Kangaroos aren't exclusive to Australia, they're also in Papua New Guinea.
Potatoes were not a thing in Europe until the 1500s when the Spanish brought them from Peru, where the Incas farmed them.
There is only one species of spider in Ireland that bites. At night cats can sound like crying children. There are no snakes in Ireland and only one type of lizard, no other reptile.
